  1. I have two IFWs, and 2002 GD85 with ramp tailgate that I use for firewood and a 2009 10 x 5 box van to deliver stoves, cookers etc. I have had both serviced this year, the newer one needed a new hydraulic shock abs in the hitch, both had new sets of brake cables. Other than that fine. There have been some bad posts on the new model tipper here recently, I did have one on demo, this was a pre production version and it seemed fine although I only had it for a couple of weeks. In the end I went for bags and not bulk. I dont think you can split a 4 cube load but the Atlas which users here quite like does have this facility maybe as an option. I would be wary of an Ali floor, very very slippy if wet. On the size issue I am able to get the 10 foot trailer anywhere I need to so would go for that rather than the 8 footer providing you have some way of measuring the load. A
  2. 212 views so far, did no one go?. Mind it is a fair old trek for most of us. A
  3. Seen nothing about this anywhere, did anyone here attend?. If so did you have a look at this new Posch 360 processor?. Thanks A
  4. I am burning mine every day on a bonfire. I do have a pellet boiler but pelleting it is a science and you need to beb properly tooled up for it. One of the downsides of selling it for pelleting is that unless its clean ( ie blown into a container) then the contaminates from the ground wont do the pelleter any good. A
  5. BACA. cheap and hardwearing, will embrioder for minimum of 10 from memory. Bought 10 Ts and 10 sweats, 4 years ago, wear one of each 6 days a week, every week, wife and kids have aquired some of them so what I have left get 2 washes a week now. Still wash up as new and look good. A
  6. Quiet time of year for me, most days 9am - 4pm in my showroom then out doing a few deliveries, surveys etc. Today started about 8am, got back from delivering a range cooker at about 9pm. During the winter its a steady 70 hour week sometimes more. A
  7. I have had Landrover Disco and Defender since 1994. Currently my Disco has done 253,000 and my Defender 136,000, both are 03 plate. My first Disco I sold at 274.000 relatively trouble free miles, this one has been a bit of a pain since 180,000. 2 breakdowns requiring recovery + 2 local tow homes. Defender has been pretty good, had to replace the injector seals recently and there is a large clunk coming from somewhere in the transmission. So in short Defender and older Disco are not to bad at all up to 180,000, the new V6 Disco (05 plate onwards) is a real money pit though, avoid at all costs. Defender double cabs are a good tow vechicle, a company called Ashcroft Transmissions has I understand developed an auto box for it. A
  8. Remind me of this when I am looking to replace my JAPA 700 and am tempted by a chainsaw machine !!. A
  9. Agreed but the cord price differential is not that much, about £10 a tonne, so thats about £7 a cubic meter. Providing its dry you will get no issues at all selling softwood. A
  10. How on earth do you get a hydraulic oil fire?. I suppose overworking the machine gets the oil hot but there is not a lot of oxygen other than some in the reservoir to promote a fire. Asking as I have a Jappa 700 circular blade and don't want the same thing to happen. Perhaps a burst hose dumped oil onto the chain bar, that would do it. If thats the case thats another plus point for a circular blade. A
  11. Used to run Connects in my old business, we would run the Diesels to 300,000 miles, no major issues at all. A
  12. Not Roundup, that is not that good on nettles and kills the grass. For nettles Grazon is excellent stuff, use it myself most years. Grazon 90 | Grazon Pro | Pitchcare Shop Should be able to get some from what used to be Centeral Wool Growers in Towcester. A
  13. Like the way you have modified that elevator, looks like a Perry, put a few thousand bales on one of those in my time. Recenty sold it for scrap. A
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum. What sort of size are you looking for, ie how big a diameter log can your processor take?. that will help people close to you to see if they have anything suitable. A
  15. Beware of the Tacho regs as well. A
  16. If that fails I have a contact near Kettering that has a Woodmizer. Think he may also be a member here as well. A
  17. My council had a bin for cardboard and garden waste, now they want teh cardboard broken down into bits no bigger than a Cornflakes box and put into a small baskit similar to that used for plastics. So big boxes go straight to Landfill now, I even had a silver cooking paper cardbaord center left behind last week, to big !!. A
  18. Some customers load coal overnight. They will buy it from somewhere. Just remember that ordinary Coal should not be used tin a stove, use smokeless load or smokeless fuel in a stove. A
  19. ~Agreed, but not yet. Wait till September for a better price. A
  20. Wait till its cold, stick a sign out on the road, advertise in local parish magazines. Very few buyers of ready to burn logs at this time of year, get your timber processed up and store it. A
  21. Hi and welcome. Try Nick Channor, member here, decent bloke. Sends what he says he will. A

Very nice, wish I had the skills to do that. Thanks for sharing, A
  23. Bearing in mind the current market cost of soft cord then its a fair deal. A
  24. Seems Sycamore is not mentioned, odd. A
  25. Milling it would be the best option I think. Then sell it to the furnature men etc. A
