  1. That's a great looking lorry and drag, just what I'm looking for, did you say you'd just sold it?
  2. The U20 is a very good piece of kit. We had that on demo a while ago and its much more civilised to drive on the road than our U1200 and U1500, probably not as good in extreme off road situations (I didn't get the chance to go very far off road) but a good compromise. Some agric tyres and it'll be a different beast, lots of technology and neat touches both standard and fitted by ACP.
  3. Try Andy and Justin at Welmac UK Ltd: DuraTech and Haybuster Main Dealers - Home Page. . We've used them a few times, they travel all over the uk and are very reliable and capable. Regards, Steve
  4. Can you send or post some pics of that trailer mate, I may be interested in that myself if no one else is! Ta
  5. I would say Richard Blakey or Jon Vicary are your best bet, if you struggle I have a reverse drive T190 with FAE. Thanks, Steve
  6. Get a look at enduronews.com, go to the events page, find a meeting near you (there are plenty) go and have a look and get hooked (thats what I did 9 years ago and never looked back), its the best way to spend a sunday afternoon. Good luck mate.
  7. Its defo worth doing, if youve got the funds in place apply for as many vehicels as you can, as if you decide you want a second or third truck to add to the 5 tonner you then won't need to go through it all again.
  8. If you want to get a bigger truck, a 4.5, 5.5 or 7.5 tonner is the way to go. But as has been said anything over a 3.5t will require an O licence and 6 weekly checks etc. It's not difficult to get, and once you have it you'll wonder how you ever managed with 3.5 tonners.
  9. We currently have 3 x vancancies for qualified and experienced arborists. Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years experience and be upto at least CS39. North east based, permanent full time positions. Rates dependant on qualifications and experience. PM or email [email protected] for more details. Thanks, Steve.
  10. I switched from a gasgas 250 to ktm250 2 stroke last year, and had an electric start fitted which is the best thing ever. I prefer riding the gasgas but the depreciation was eye watering and the ktm is easy and cheap to fix and can be sold on easily. I've had a 450 ktm and wr250 but I prefer a 2 stoke and the KTM ticks most of the boxes.
  11. A few mates did Romaniacs in the hobby team class in 2008 and loved it even though none finished and one returned with a smashed up knee. Paul did his training with Ad..romania this year to raise some money towards his racing, along with a few training days in Cown quarry which I went along to. I was really enjoying my riding this year (early on), I did the tough one, was training for my first Erzberg and looking to go to Romaniacs then broke my wrist in 3 places trying a little too hard, so it was back to the drawing board for me. I'm back on the bike now and enjoying it although not fully fit, I think I'll try and ride within my limits next year, can't afford another bad injury.
  12. Top pics there Graham and I bet it was geat fun. I'm off to have a go at Romaniacs next year, was the trip with Adventureromania?. I was thinking of going early next year to get a feel for the place before competing in the summer.
  13. We've bought 18 pairs of haiz boots for staff in the last five years, and until this year have not has one sigle problem with boots lasting around 12 months. The ones purchased in 2010 have all failed within 3 months, with the biggest problem being the sole parting from the boot, usually at the toe. Somethings not quite right in the manufacturing I think, and the importers are not the most helpfull of people. They came back with 'we ahven't ahd any ohter boots fail' and suggsting one of our staff must 'stand around all day long kicking walls'
  14. Mines got the 2.5 engine, no problems with gearbox so far '145k' althoug I did need to sort the engine out shortly after buying it (cracked head bodged up by previous owner).
  15. I've recently bought a LWB vauxhall vivaro and I absolutley love it. 6 seats in 2 rows, bulkhead, then a large loadspace in the back. 140hp, 6 speed, it returns around 30 - 35mpg.
  16. We all threaten to do this! I wonder how many have actually thrown in the towel recently? I for one couldn't throw my business away becasue I needed to fill in a piece of paper before I set off to do a days work. I think a lot of people need to get a grip of themselves.
  17. How often does Alex service / inspect it, if you don't mind me asking? It would be nice if he was a bit closer to us.
  18. It might if your 20 tonne unimog / trailer combo collides with a family car. Not having a go, I put my mogs onto our operators licence so that they get inspected by a qualified engineer every 6 weeks. In the event of a collision I can show I have taken steps to keep the vechicles roadworthy.
  19. LOL, do you mean PTS staff! Absolute top drawer stuff this, it has to be seen to be believed. Of course it only looks so good because we felled and presented the timber! NOT!
  20. We mostly work from Teeside to Newcastle but do go north of the border now and again. Where are you based?
  21. Hi all. We currently have vacancies for experienced staff with relevant certs / qualifications for interesting and variable work in the north east. Please contact for further information. Thanks,
  22. I have, twice, for using it in mogs. We got a fine and an invoice for the back duty. If the guy or gal who stops you doesn't know the rules, they will simply find out. I've been told if we are found using red in the future the vehicles in question will be confiscated. Needless to say, they now run on derv.
  23. I havn't mate, Is the machine for sale? do you have a contact no?
  24. We are looking at purchasing a tractor with roofmount crane, failry modern as it will do some road work. Anyone know of any for sale? Thanks.
