  1. jonesie, i've lost the adjuster bar off my pfanner braces whislt working yesterday. it seems to have popped out whilst i was working in the tree. i've tried ringing but i only get the engaged tone. appreciate some advice on this please.

  2. tigger get in touch with the college and they will tell you whats included and what isn't. when i did my nc at houghall in durham we just did the basic nptc's to get a job, 30 31 etc. hope this helps and may see you at ABC in september as i'm planning on doing the foundation degree there. And welcome to arbtalk.

  4. video removed by user:sneaky2: that was an absolute monster of a machine:thumbup:
  5. i'm sure it was on here where i saw a video of a massive german mewp that was built for building wind turbines. I think it was about 100m:blink:
  6. now we know who's been nicking the cabling off the metro in newcastle:001_tt2:
  7. i'm looking into doing a FdSc in arb at askham bryan college which is verified by harper adams college. upon completion of this and dependent on gaining a merit or above i can "top-up" with a course in land management but with an arb slant to it:thumbup1:
  8. i use a burgon and ball pocket sharpening steel which looks a bit like a pen. puts a really good edge on most things with just a few strokes.
  9. i like the photo of the honey fungus bootlaces david:thumbup1:
  10. if you're looking at a landy, you'll soon start throwing money at it by adding bits and bobs and if it's second hand new parts. speaking as the owner of a thirteenth hand landy:thumbup: (incidentally i'm thinking of selling my landy and upgrading to a double cab hi-cap or worse a double cab transit:001_tongue:)
  11. love the photo of the street tree dave. someone took time and effort with that:thumbup1:
  12. i know thomas was at the Arb fair with it last year as i was looking at it and remember thinking not very practical for british gardens apart from footballers and millionaires gardens of about fifty acres with no greenhouses or windows within twenty feet of the tree.
  13. it sounds like it could be there, not far from skipton to settle really, just a few mins up the A65.
  14. there was a 4x4 sprinter for sale on ebay i think which was an ex-electricity board one with a gas ring and hand wash and extra seating in the back.
  15. saw this at the trade fair last year and thought the same as pete mctree although my thoughts were wouldn't like to be any where near the landing area for that thing although it does apparently come with a protective foam sleeve:001_tongue:
  16. gave the future mrs penfold her proper engagement ring whilst we were having a three course valentines meal with the couple she looks on as her family.
  17. yeah, all the tea spoons in yorkshire are all galvanised to prevent corrosion from the tannic acid:biggrin:
  18. whose been watching those sites he shouldn't? you're getting too old for that sort of excitement johnny.
  19. for a similar saw try the ms441:thumbup1: i run a 390 and it can be a right royal pain in the butt to start sometimes and sometimes won't tickover no matter how often you adjust it. worst buy of my life although i am on my second one but only because my first one was stolen and my policy is like for like and i had already decided to upgrade my blower.
  20. .
  21. you have just sent half the members into a cold sweat yeti.
  22. tommy, try lunge thread in the search box and i think it's on the last but one page.

  23. i think it's pretty obvious why it happened. the driver is obviously running late and forgot to lower the tipper before setting off:blushing:
  24. the electric saw was being used by somebody else to cut up the smaller branches for firewood after i had dropped it. mozza, it was an irish yew so doesn't come under the same curse as an ordinary yew.
  25. this is my first attempt at lunging as i have never needed to lunge before but i felt the urge on this occasion.
