  4. I get my accountant wife to read the article later. As I understand from what is written in the article, you may deduct the tva from petrol ONLY if it is E85 Otherwise, regardless of use SP95 SP98 are not deductable. The term 'carburant' is a generic term for fuel. But I'm open to discussion as always. Ty
  5. Gasoil Non Routier. That is 'cherry' in Brexitland. Diesel designated for plant use, not household heating or normal road use. Ty
  6. Ah, Mick, the carburant is not essence (petrol) It's a term used for both but they are refering to diesel I think....I think. Ty
  7. Yes Mick, GNR which we use in the diesel chippers, tractors and grinder. VAT on ordinary petrol can't be claimed back but E85 petrol 100% of vat for businesses. I think I read that right... Ty
  8. Question for the learned members of this Parish. How many hours might reasonably be expected from a decent V twin petrol? Honda, Vanguard or Kohler. Ty
  9. WOW! 8 litres! I knew the 22/24hp Honda twins where around 4 litres and my Briggs Vanguard 18hp on the CS100 was 3 litres but 8 per hour is double that of a 35hp diesel.   11. Leaving the tool boxes out in the rain on a Friday then leaving them closed over the weekend... Leaving everything and anything in the truck that is wet or waste. Overfeeding the chippers...duh! Feeding chippers with lumps of wood like 'morning stars' then having to spend 20min wrestling the lumps out of the rollers. Taking a fresh saw each time a chain is blunted until every saw is blunted. Getting the 'ump when I ruck up on site an hour before the end of the job and point out the hangers (post rope retrieval) Leaving the truck doors open in the rain. Not taking muddy gloves off to move the truck. Oh F~~K IT! I'm going to work alone from now on... Ty
  12. Any-one? An all alloy chip box, including floor. Any ideas on the weight including tipping gear? I'm thinking why have more than 4m3 anyway to stay legal. Although enough room to drive a grinder up would be an advantage. Ty

  14. Hello, Been looking at chassis cabs as our Iveco Daily 3.5t is due to fall apart in the near future. What sort of weight can a tipping body get down too if made from aluminium? Our double cab with steel tipping body and a steel framed greedy boards with alloy panels can only carry 700kg legally, more like 500kg when 2 lads and kit on board. Ty

  16. AH! I was wondering why some chippers where mounted sideways on, now I know! The G.M has a set of 4 ugly propstands though. I'd prefer a mod where the chipper has it's own wheels like the G.M CS100 pto machine. 400kg for the GM 6" pto chipper... At 35hp tractor may only have 30 at the pto but hey... Ty
  17. The big Ifor tipper is 3.62m/12ft I guess there is room for overhang... Looking at the future JD2036 with it's quick attach loader system. Although, the JD1026 which I currently run and will leave behind when I leave could run a CS100 pto machine if push comes to shove. TY
  18. I read/hear what you say about the Ditch Witch-Beau Jo set up... Really, I couldn't go back to a gravity fed chipper, it would be too much of a retro grade move to make and take years off my life feeding the chuffing thing. Do you think it possible to have a 35 hp tractor-loader and pto chipper combo and keep the weight to 2500kg? Bearing in mind the weight of a tipper being around 1000kg. Ty
  19. Hello, Does any-one run a compact tractor with a loader/grab and a pto chipper? I was thinking of another future set up as I 'may' be moving on from our current business. 4x4 pickup towing a large tipper trailer with tractor and chipper inside. Obviously weight to be kept within the towing regulations. Pickup could then double as my personal vehicle...perhaps. OR you all say I'd be better off with the well tried and tested 3.5t tipper and small petrol roadtow? I'm certainly not going back to a wee chipper! Although an HB20 type grinder would be on the cards. Ty
  20. A Quadchip but made of meatier stuff. Ours was a very early model. I'd want: Bigger better bearings. Metal grease tubes. Upgraded axles. Better hatches. Centre of gravity, very biased towards the rear, easy to tip up when pushing by hand or applying the hand brake on a slope. It was never the towing weight I was bothered about. Turntable flexibility with a reasonably low weight. I love our Quadchip but it has been a sore trial at times with one thing after another even with the excellent support of G.M. Ty
