    Ms180

save your money and put it towards a saw thats capable of doing more work. ive got a 180 for carving the sunday roast and for bob to use when he works with me, he can't handle anything bigger:wave:
  3. you work for a LA so you've always got time, time for a a pot of tea, time for a nap in a layby, time for a break and then when its time to get the saw out, its time to go home:thefinger::wave:
  4. if you can get to homlfirth your more than welcome theres always time for a play about
  5. oregon round ground chisel 21lp:icon14:
  6. it wont make a difference when felling, provided the end result complies of a hinge minimum of 1 inch or 10% of the true diameter of the tree. but it is a waste of timber. i was taught an inch at the bottom is worth a foot at the top. thats probably why its seen as bad practice (in a forestry sense). the angled back cut is a reconised copice technique.
  7. your arb work must be easy!! im jiggered after a days work:sleep:

i would,nt mind but id just started to take the edge of my new tyres buy the time he'd finished my tyres were cold and would'nt be warm enough for the next set of bendy ones:cussing:

    dark visor

just been for a blast on the bike and come back with a fixed penelty notice for having a dark visor. they never even mentioned the illegal exhaust. bloody coppers i would,nt mind if they had caught me speeding that would be a fair cop but a dark visor:cussing::cussing:
  12. lets remember 1 thing we are still part of the food chain. just cos it aint come from tesco!!!
  13. lets be honest about this we probably all take unessaccary risks at some point in the working day and when an accident happens we try to justify our actions its easy to blame inxperience, complacency presure of the job. i think that its human nature to take risks so therefor accidents will continue to happen, until the human element is removed! we all have a choice in the actions we take, just think back to your last job and the risks that you took, knowing what the consequenses will be if you get your judgement wrong.

    Saw storage.

i always empty my fuel tank if im not using a saw for a while, mixed fuel (2stroke) will start to breakdown after 90 days and offer less lubrication.
  15. if you dont get a buzz from climbing you can always flip a mewp:scared: i bet thats a buzz:icon14::wave:

    Ooops!

it was the same day you cut that squirels head off and threw it at me:cussing:
  17. today i left my trusty shunt in the truck and tried the hitch climber along with the vt. I found that it was very close to my body which at first was a bit awkward but im used to using the shunt. it tendered really well and was realy good for branch walking were as the shunt can be a bit jerky. i thought that i might be takng a risk by using it for the first time on a 30% reduction on a big beech but once i got used to it didnt give it too much thought. ill certanly try it again, and can quite easily see myself changing my climbing system once again.
  18. gas fire out log burner in. if it burns it goes on the fire, babies nappies give out alot of heat.lol:icon14:

  20. i once a built a dry stone wall for women it took three days she came out to see me every day on the third day she told me that i had built it in the wrong place. so i pulled it down and cleared of to the pub, where everyone proceeded to warn me about her:cussing:
  21. do i know you?
  22. is your rope getting old and starting to get memory?
  23. that was'nt a hard days work! you've worked for the council too long. and as for payment, when you can come up with a more resonable daily rate ill pay you, but £10 per day is far too much money for your standed of work.lol:wave:
  24. i have one customer who buys firewood all year round so that he can dry it out ready to burn. i have other customers that burn with coal and a wet log lasts longer so there happy.
  25. i find if you lay your log on a plate and place it on sunny windowcill it will dryout very quickly. or you could speed the drying process by placing it on a baking tray and popping it in the oven:wave: i find they make good paperwieghts:icon14:
