    big saws

thats a good tip cheers. spoke to stihl rep, and apperently its a common fault that they are aware of. the have told me that they do another filter as an aftermarket option which should stop it. sounds iffi to me but the next time in at the dealers ill ask:hmmmm2:
  8. nor do i, but i also don't like the way certain companies pass it of as pollarding. a professional pollard such as yours :icon14:is a far cry from what some pass of as pollarding.
  9. i agree. it is nice to see a proper re- pollarding:aetsch: p.s. great photos too.

    is it me?

realy slow for me getting a pi55ed of with it now. also took 5 attempts to get online:cussing:
  14. my argument is that too many people use the term pollarding for the work they intend to do, when actually what they are doing is lopping and topping. pollarding should be started in young trees and the maintained through re-pollarding. hence a pollarded tree. to take a mature tree and cut it back to structure that represents a tree that has been pollarded is simply lopping and topping and not pollarding. if the chestnuts were pollarded from a young age then the work being done was re-pollarding:wave:
  15. surely the work carried out to produce a pollard is lopping and topping?
  16. lopping and topping is the correct term, to produce a pollard this would then be followed by a re-pollard. looking at the pictures it looks they have had a re-pollard:wave:
  17. i carry a group first aid kit in the truck, but also carry the ex mod large wound dressing a bit bulky, but probably the best thing for a c/saw injury. i also have one in a pouch on my harness.
