  3. The linkage on the diff lock if prone to seizing if it is not used regularly, many aren't. work the lever hard from side to side to try and free off the linkage, try getting under and lubricating it too...

  7. My granddad used to say, (when talking of ugly women) " you don't look on the mantlepiece when you're poking the fire"
  8. I have had this situation before, chances are the garage owner will claim off their insurance, best let the two insurers sort it out amongst themselves. It would be well worth documenting the state of the tree and noting any defects. And most importantly make sure they know that they will be liable for your bill wahtever the outcome.
  9. Thing is, its easy to blame, guns, intensive agriculture, Monsanto, Mcdonalds and "the man" for all sorts of things but please please give us a practical alternative. Vague wooly answers are not acceptable.

  12. He's in winter coat, I think they are darker up here than down south, I saw that Ray Mears program about Sailsbury Plain and noticed how light the roe there were, here they are a real foxy red in summer.
  13. ATec Maxim, not the quietest, but its light and doesn't add much length, its quiet enough to protect your ears which is what counts.
  14. Savage HMR and Walther barreled Sako 75 in 7mm08. I bought a side by side Baikal 12 bore the other day for £75 too..

A friend told me of spending new year on lismore, a guy was showing off his whiskey knowledge, he handed a glass to one of the older islanders saying " this one is 25 years old" . "at 25 years old you'd think he'd be a little bigger" said the old man...

I take it neat usually. However it is surprising how a few drops of water change the flavours. I mean a few drops though, its easy to drown it. Try adding just 4 or 5 drops to a glass, it will make a difference.

A lot of people fall into the once bitten twice shy trap. Its worth persevering. Try Highland Park, which comes from orkney, its peaty but has a nice sweet note too from the sherry casks, a little like Jura which is more peaty, Lagavulin is very peaty, although the Lagavulin "quarter cask" is a bit more mellow if you can find it. all the above are reasonably priced....
  21. If its a copy its the best I've seen, why do you think its malaysian? It would be easy to tell in the flesh but from a picture it certainly fools me....
  22. I spent many happy hours shooting mice with one of those...
  23. Trust me on this: don't pay the tax man. Yet. All they do is send you letters and add a wee bit of interest, nothing scary, you could wait till the spring when work picks up...
  24. Jeez you guys are paying a lot, I can get a 60 tonner for £500 a day.
  25. For the reach that you will need it will be dear, better just rig it down and take a week over it.
