  1. Nice work Mark, How many ton bags of sawdust?
  2. Here's the neighbour's pics... Goodbye to the poplar tree 15-10-11 | Facebook
  3. We took down a big Poplar today with a crane, all went smoothly. We didn't take that many pics although, the neighbour has said she will send some she took. I'll stick em on when we get them.
  4. beautiful pics, I love that pine bark, without the climber for scale that tree could be 1' thick.
  5. I asked for a quote the other day for my new valmet, I told them I was doing forestry , arb and estate work, they came back £450!!
  6. No experience of rangers but I have heard that persistant pressure on the stick can cause selector problems.
  7. I think about 10-20 seconds ought to be the limit, any more and you are having too much rest. and if you do it with no break you might as well have stayed down and just done one big set of press ups. I did have a sip of beer between 7 and 8.
  8. do you drive resting your hand on the stick?
  9. 10.2, my arms feel like spaghetti now. I am on my second beer though and have started smoking....again. What is the official time gap between sets, I walked round the sofa once between each go. so maybe 10 secs.
  10. My wife used to clean mine regularly, since we had a kid, it doesn't get cleaned so often, she's just busy I guess.
  11. Just get used to living without the second line / other end of your rope, take a short lanyard up instead. I used to use both ends but stopped about 5 years ago, I have probably used two lines twice since then. It is much quicker with one main line and easier too. Just take a bit of time when picking your main anchor and looking at where you are going to go and in what order, you'll find that for 99% of your work you won't need another line.
  12. I find they are great to climb in..
  13. Good job mate, what HP is the tractor, I think its the next one up from mine. TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.
  14. i wonder wether the transmission could take the traction?
  15. Could you not have craned it into the trailer? Good job though, big tree. TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.

    Free range?

I suspect that because these are kept all together there will be much more bullying, in battery cages there are only a few hens per cage so less victimization. They will be fine in the end, but they weren't what my city girl wife was expecting lol. TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.

    Free range?

Looks that way doesn't it. They were worse when they arrived, the feathers are starting to come back, although the baldest one died last night. TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.
  18. I saw a newish ranger stranded on the a1 last week, the rear wheel complete with drum and half shaft was lying in the road about 30 yards back. The driver didn't look happy. TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.

    Free range?

We got some ex commercial hens a couple of weeks ago, I had bought ex battery hens before and they were in a pretty poor state, but nothing like as bad as these. They are supposedly from a free range farm. This is what they look like, almost oven ready! TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.
  20. What's the top speed? I'll bet she feels fast! TD Tree & Land Services Ltd.
  21. I am on my third pair, very good boots. Check your old boots, if you wear out the toes first don't buy them as some people who must scuff their toes as they walk seem to wear out the trekkers very quickly, mine have lasted well however as I seem to wear the balls and heels of my soles first.
  22. I think the £8k one is just the trailer without the crane, be a lot more with a crane on I think.
  23. I have used a bandit 250 pto a fair bit, very impressive, 20" wide rollers, very good on timber and brash, very powerful infeed pull. Very big and heavy though.
