  3. If you give a good reason for it being "shite" i would be interested to hear it mate.....?
  4. Whats wrong with the New England Hi-Vee???!!!!
  5. when felling in to a small gap "tighter than a nun's c*nt" When u see an old rough bird "pus*y like a butchers dustbin" To a slow climber "like a smail with a hernea" "Ford Ranger Pickups are clit trucks....Every c*nt has one" "Calm Yourself" "Dry old job" when no tea supplied "as useful as a dick flavoured lollipop!" When someone gets cocky "sit down before you hurt yourself" "I'd hang out the back of her anyday" speaks for itself
  6. the wood is more deadly than the saw if u dont know what you are doing......
  7. It is nice that u are interested and want to learn etc etc but where you said "I want to do the work myself" this is wrong....there should always be two people when using chainsaws...especially in woods and especially on windfallen trees....not only that but its also good to know the map co-ordinates for the wood you're working/nearest major road etc etc incase there is an accident...also if you did get hurt you would need someone to call for help
  8. maybe not like that last picture...that looks friar tucked
  9. I did two like this in October 2006.....warned the customer that the dodgy looking ones might die...They were a little slower growing back but look fine now....
  10. An Englishman, and Irishman and an Aussie are asked to price a crown reduction on a large Oak tree at a development site in London...... The Aussie turns up and looks around at the condition of the tree...asks by how much it should be reduced.... looks at the access and then comes up with a figure of £400 The irishman turns up without asking what needs to be done and says "I'll get ma boys to do that for £100" The Englishman sits outside the area in his brand new truck without even looking at the tree and says to the Site Manager " i'll do it for £2400" "Why ever that much" the Manager says The Englishman replies "Thats £1000 for me, £1000 for you and we'll get the bloody Aussie to do the work!":proud:
  11. Totally agree here...although you can also pick up bad habits if you learn before taking your tickets....my instructor took ages banging them out of me and i only had a few years experience before i did mine...so its 6 of one and half dozen of the other
  12. Like taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut........ I like your style:icon14:
  13. WOW getting a semi just looking at that!! great work
  14. Some Road workers left 2 outside my yard....left it a few weeks the got the hammerite out....they look a treat. full size metal and all for free...bar a lick of paint and stencil
  15. A good tip i learnt when working with agricultural machinery was to heat a stuck bolt like that and then immediately throw cold water over it...it sort of cracks the seal...also stud extractors are good...but its always easier to use new bolts on chippers and copper grease...saves time and money in the long run
  16. Yeah i agree with the others you should be shown and not just told...but even then it comes with experience. Always remember the good old "C before T" when cutting wood under pressure and making several small cuts to releive tension too....winch is good too.....but even winching can be dangerous....Also if these trees are hung up you need to be competant at bore cuts.....which shouldnt be carried out if untrained...whatever you do be careful take your time and always look at what could happen
  17. Have a look at these.....pretty cool [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=A_UqhcByRdY&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wAgAuh8yGpQ[/ame] [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=q-A3YVcgYRM[/ame] [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=q6DFC5gyrLs[/ame]
  18. I am a great hater of the "banana" cuts that were mentioned earlier....i always keep my bar rails filed correctly....but has anyone got any advice for easier ways to keep the flat file level when filing along the top of the rail (i use an engineer's square) but it gets a bit tedious on a long bar that has sloping rails
  19. yeah i have a 660....used an old cd2100 from years ago and still feel the tingling now haha.... that and starting the beast of an old 60 odd cc husky we had from the 1960s
  20. you poor bugger....hope you got some good plugs and warm gloves!!!!
