Some Road workers left 2 outside my yard....left it a few weeks the got the hammerite out....they look a treat. full size metal and all for free...bar a lick of paint and stencil

A good tip i learnt when working with agricultural machinery was to heat a stuck bolt like that and then immediately throw cold water over it...it sort of cracks the seal...also stud extractors are good...but its always easier to use new bolts on chippers and copper grease...saves time and money in the long run

Yeah i agree with the others you should be shown and not just told...but even then it comes with experience. Always remember the good old "C before T" when cutting wood under pressure and making several small cuts to releive tension too....winch is good too.....but even winching can be dangerous....Also if these trees are hung up you need to be competant at bore cuts.....which shouldnt be carried out if untrained...whatever you do be careful take your time and always look at what could happen -

I am a great hater of the "banana" cuts that were mentioned earlier....i always keep my bar rails filed correctly....but has anyone got any advice for easier ways to keep the flat file level when filing along the top of the rail (i use an engineer's square) but it gets a bit tedious on a long bar that has sloping rails

yeah i have a 660....used an old cd2100 from years ago and still feel the tingling now haha.... that and starting the beast of an old 60 odd cc husky we had from the 1960s

what is the engine size of the 090.....? I know that the 088 is 122cc......so is the 090 more?

I bought my 660 in 2004....been nothin but trouble....got a 30"/25" bar and can never get the chain to tighten fully (unless the bar is at its max) and it never oils enongh......i dont see why the saws cant have added manual oil pumps like to good old CD2100 Husky from few years back.....also those saws balanced better with a larger bar.... like the look of the 390xp though (the chainbreak looks a bit sturdier than the 395 and 3120 xp machines).

I recently took my spare (old O2O) top-handled for a re-bore and the guy doing the work (an ex-forestry engineer) told me that i should replace the rubber mounts for the anti-vibration every 6 months even if the saw is sat in the shed!! Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Yeah...every 3 chains....but what a waste.....they go a lot longer than that
