  1. Taking into account how much money you have spent on gear I reckon your advertising budget should have been much more than £300 - considering that you are a new business.
  2. Even if you've only got CS30/31 you can still advertise as being NPTC qualified, you wouldn't be lying would you?
  3. If you want tool storage then you really need a crewcab or a seperate tool box, and if you only want to spend £4k that probably means a transit, ldv or possibly an older iveco.
  4. What a muppet! I think people in Cornwall get a bit too trusting because it's a relatively low crime area. It only takes one scum bag to nick your saws though:thumbsdown: By the way, who'd you work for anyway?
  5. Yeah, especially if it means working outside of normal hours, i.e. the middle of the night - you can really sting them then!
  6. I, and all my staff, are NPTC qualified. Just saying that it is far from being a requirement if you wish to fell trees!
  7. You been drinking on the job again Bob?
  8. Sh*t, where were your saws kept - garage, container??
  9. Yes, it's definitely kicking off in Cornwall - wind picking up and chucking it down with rain. Time to sit back and wait for the phone to start ringing!!
  10. I've postponed the work that I had booked in, none of the guys that work for me want to come in tomorrow either!
  11. It's not always a case of what you need, it's about what's the best tool for the job. You could cut that tree down with a penknife over the course of a couple of years if you wanted to, but no one would, so why p*ss around with a smaller saw if you've got that bloody great thing to hand?
  12. So not required to fell trees over 8" or operate a chainsaw from a rope and harness - just required to work at certain places.
  13. The Lantra chainsaw course is basically the NPTC CS30/31 course without the assessment.
  14. Reckon I'd rather have your tractor than a quad - far more versatile.
  15. They've been around for donkeys years, used a similar thing on the end of a brushcutter 10 years ago - next to useless!
  16. I'm very rarely asked to remove the stump when cutting down a tree - maybe once a year, if that.
  17. Nevermind the adrenalin - think about the money you can charge!! Last November we had a storm and I was called out at 1.30a.m. to remove a tree from someones roof - I made £900 in 4 hours!
  18. Do you guys do more stump grinding than you do chipping?
  19. Well that's just confirmed what I always thought - BBC weather forecasts are just a load of random symbols thrown at a map!
