  1. Lovely looking bit of oak as well
  2. They look like the D009 mounting studs - do you know anyone with a large 70cc + Husky - all the bars for these should fit on your makita (as a double check).
  3. Cannon bars are great but found the longer ones are quite floppy like the GB ones... the longer Sugihara bars are def stiffer but don't go above 46" in length.
  4. Thanks Jeremy got that, sent it you'll have today - I thought it was for x3! You've only been charged for x3 anyways!
  5. Thanks- the D009 mount is easy enough to source and gives plenty of options...
  6. Ed as a double check - try one of your bars for the 576 on the Makita and see if it fits - this will be a D009 (idea courtesy of treebeard! )
  7. Hi Ed - sorry it seems the Makita DCS9010 is an D009 mount! So if you put in Husky 395XP here Guide bars These bars will all fit (and same for chains). Put in 'arbtalk' as the voucher code when you check out for a good throw in!
  8. Good stuff! Ta
  9. Can anyone say for definite what oregon mount the Makita DCS9010 is? Oregon seem to have it double listed as either D033 or D009....
  10. Is the DCS9010 an D009 mount? In the oregon manual it seems to say it is... and it isn't! It has it listed as D033 and D009... I'll stick a thread up on it...
  11. I think you should be sorted now? Is this Paddy from Finland? You had a rough deal there as you ordered just as we ran out of Alaskans and then the next shipment was 6 weeks late but hopefully you're planking now!
  12.

<p>Hi Shaun - yes I would just go with a 10" or 12" sugi light type dime tip bar... bear in mind you'll need to have a 1/4" drive sprocket to run the 1/4" chain you have to use with a dime tip....</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p> </p>

<p>Either that or a 10" or 12" Quarter tip - you're existing drive sprocket is prob 3/8 lo pro but double check.</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p> </p>

    <p>Also did some vids here

  13. As Ty has said - if you are def going to stick with that saw - a small log mill and mini mill combo will give you the most use out of it.... Sharp chain is the key to milling!
  14. <p>Oh and yes - just select an 018 to see all the carving bar options - they are all universal mounts and will all fit on the MS150.</p>

  15.

    <p>Does it apply to the 10 & 12 & 14 inch dime tips. </p>

    <p> </p>

<p><span style="color:#FF0000;">Yes all the dime tips and Q tips will fit the MS150 - on the dime tips they do need that extra drive link..I need to work out how to show this with the selectors.</span></p>

<p>Is it a solid bar - dime tip that you are waiting for ? Do you have an idea of what they will cost and would I really notice a great deal of difference between 10/12 inch light type and solid ??</p>

    <p> </p>

    <p><span style="color:#FF0000;">The ones I am getting will be R7 (7mm tip), the dime tips I have are R10 (10mm) tip.</span></p>

    <p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p>

    <p><span style="color:#FF0000;">The new ones I am getting will run the 1/4" .043" chain - the ones I have run the 1/4" .050" chain.</span></p>

    <p><span style="color:#FF0000;"> </span></p>

<p><span style="color:#FF0000;">If this is to be your only carving bar you need a standard dime set up... the new ones I am getting are only for detail work - they will not last at all doing regular carving.</span></p>

<p> If I decide to go with a light type should I select a different saw to be able to select the bar ? Sorry to muck about !!! But I'm desperate to get a dime tip on it </p>

    <p>Thanks Ross</p>

  16. It's harder than you think to get hold of these bars in that if I went to order off oregon here in the UK - it will show as an invalid number... yet the bars are available in the US.... oregon don't want to supply anything here that will only have a limited demand. Ref Sugi - it's not a problem getting the bars in either a Husky mount running .063 or the other way round.. the trouble is matching demand and supply. Each and every bar size, mount and type (laminated, laminated light, solid pro, light type pro) has to be order in the 30s... ie x30 of every variation! It may be in the future I can get some spacers (actually organising now) so that you can put a Stihl bar onto a Husky saw and ok you may have to drill another oiler hole... The whole .058 and .063 guage for 60cc+ causes so many problems ref stock... but can't see it changing...
  17. Thanks for the positive review - it's been a tough month in that our last mills shipment was 6 weeks overdue so we lost all overlap of stock mills wise... also oregon seem to be up to 3 weeks behind on some bits and pieces... I think we have pretty much caught up now. Rob
  18. <p>That's it Ross - I started the order around 2 months ago - a slow process - you can put the sugi light type dime tips on the MS150 - but the chain you need requires an additional drive link... select from the custom selector here <a href="http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/custom-chain-loops/" rel="external nofollow">Custom chain loops</a> so if the bar reads 60 drive links you need to order 61...</p>

  19. Nice work Roni - glad you are liking the bar. Yes they go on the MS150 - the tip is a tiny R6 (a dime tip is R9/R10) This just refers to the radius of the tip in mm... it only takes the new Stihl 1/4" .043 chain - and is only for fine finish detailing... harder use can cause the nose to splay - more details here if you need. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsawbars/68487-samurai-legend-comp-extreme-9-r6-carving-bar-stihl-ms150.html
  20. Just watched the vid - good job
  21. Good stuff Jon!
  22. I need to re do the video for the quad - my opinion is that it is as solid as the dual and the timberjack - but is a little more fiddly... Once I have it figured out I'll re post - it really comes into it's own for sawing smaller long branches...
  23. Cheers Jon - I know where I can send anyone for a glowing reference!
  24. I am getting more feet in - just taken them off the website mainly because I'm not sure when the next order will be in - around 2 months I think - when here I will stick a thread up.
  25. I'd look at importing these but I don't think they are CE marked - that is a bit of an expensive stumbling block...
