  1. Yes for Stihl they do... but I'll get some of the 18" 3/8" light types for the 441 and 461.... also maybe 16" light type for MS261... Ref Stihl the only thing is that it seems like less people are using Stihl these days... or perhaps they prefer Stihl bars.... but a lot of people have moved from the MS260 onto the new Husky's Most popular bars are (in order) (way ahead!)15" sugi light type for Husky K095 mount ie. 346,550,560 12" sugi light type for MS200T and MS201T 18" sugi light type for Husky K095 mount ie. 346,550,560 14" sugi light type for MS200T and MS201T 13" sugi light type for Husky K095 mount ie. 346,550,560 20",25" sugi solid and light for Stihl 441,461 36" sugi solid and light for both Stihl and Husky mounts
  2. Just as an update on the OP - I'll be getting in all the inserts that Sugihara manufacture - this means that you should be able to put a Sugi bar on pretty much any saw although for some it will mean re drilling the oiler hole.... ... but all in all that won't be too much of a chore - may even buy a load of decent drill bits the right size so you will then get your spacers and drill bit to re drill oiler hole....
  3. I already have most sizes in the light type bars Dan - I'll attach the pdf to this reply There's no shame in it! They are lovely things - not sure why they look and feel better than other bars - they just do! Good question - not sure yet but I expect them to last the life of the bar... light type bars are not new for Sugihara - they have been making them for a good few years. ROB-bro-282x219-BACK.pdf
  4. Hi Paul as replied to before just go here for options: Guide bars
  5. The ones with red decals are the solid pro bars ie. one piece construction. The ones with the white sections and the black decals are the 'light types' where sections have been removed and filled with resin. This gives lighter weight (around 20% to 25%).... ...but more importantly looks better!
  6. I thought it was only mine! Brand new and it will not start with the de comp valve in - but you don't really need it. Apart from that a cracking saw
  7.

    <p>They are £54-00 Paul - on here <a href="http://www.chainsawbars.co.uk/guide-bars/" rel="external nofollow">Guide bars</a></p>

    <p> </p>

<p>Put arbtalk in as the 'voucher' code and you will get a freebie in with that.</p>

  8. Stick some pics up of what you get when you get it.
  9. Can you wait until the APF in Sept 2014? Will be plenty on show there I expect... I can see where the dilemma is - Woodmiser put huge amounts of energy into branding, marketing and going to shows - successfully I might add... From speaking to people I would say they are prob not the best brand in terms of design or build quality - but it's an easy brand to buy, information is accessible, parts are accessible, you know what you're getting. No doubt there are lots of other manufacturers out there that produce better built bandsaws (what about Big Js bandsaw - he was saying they do a smaller version than his?). Trouble is like a lot of things - you can have excellent build quality of something, a good price but.... ... if you don't have proper distribution and marketing at the other end it is meaningless...
  10. Good stuff - put 'arbtalk' in as the discount code for a free throw in.
  11. What you do in your own house is your own business Steve
  12. Already have these in stock although they are the fastest selling bar out of all bars (I think 4 or 5 left now...)
  13. Ref pre order offers - I'll do the same as last time on a sliding scale. Will give a list of all the bars that are on order - 3 months 30% off, 2 months 20% off, 1 month 10% off. Will post up and you'll have 2 to 3 weeks to qualify for the best discount.
  14. Could maybe get the 18" in 3/8 - is there many that use 16"? I can do that now Andy - are you ok changing the nose over? I can send you a .404 nose inc with the bar... or if not I can change over for you. Already got these in the light type - just put your saw into the selector below. Guide bars Yep will def get the 18" then with 3/8" nose for 461,441,362 etc...
  15. Ha ha! Would love to - I'll ask again but with the tooling they have available 46" is still the longest bar they can make...
  16. Oh - yep forgot that I'll get a 10" carving bar for the MS150 - this will run the 1/4" .043 chain but alas to get a bar that has a 1/4" nose will not be possible in the short term... ... they would have to make a new mould - approx cost £6,000-00! I expect it will get done in the end but Stihl have cornered the market with their 10" 1/4" sprocket nose bar. 15" for the MS260 - I've got the 14" and 16" - only thing is I'd have to buy 30x 15" bars - anyone else want one of these? Everyone and everything seems to be moving away from Stihl at the moment in the mid range - it's all Husky husky husky at the moment!
  17. They do have a planer attachment blade which looks really good but I think is a lot of cash! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpM8urbBZ40]Portable Sawmill - Planer Blade for Smooth Boards - YouTube[/ame] You can almost use the existing circular saw blade on the Peterson to do the same thing and re surface and flatten a wide board... ... but as you said all it will want to do is cup again! I constantly get e-mails ref people wanting a large slab for a table top... trouble is: they want pics of beautiful finished slabs from all different angles has to be right size for what they want has to be right colour for what they want price puts most off to make a real go of it you'd need x30 finished tops or examples for them to pick from you waste a lot of time explaining how 'wood works' (although I now send a standardised e-mail about this - the genuine inquiries take the time to read it) As already said - saw and dry the wood as quarter sawn then after they are dry plane and join - less waste, less hassal, more stable!
  18. Putting together the next Sugihara bar order - any requests? Was going to get the following: 12" and 14" light type bars for T540XP more 15" light type and pro bars for Husky 550 and 560 (almost sold out of those already) range of spacers that will allow bars to go on a larger range of saws - oiler holes may have to be drilled but at least you have the option 18" light type for Husky 372 increased stock of most other bars already in the range
  19. Rob D

    Kauri NZ

Good work - have been over a few times and visited the Kauri museum - a pretty sad story - even more important to save what's left.
  20. Thanks for the order Scott - remember to put in arbtalk as the voucher code for a freebie - have e-mailed Andy who packs the mills that you're an arbtalker so hopefully he'll get the message in time.
  21. Sorry - only just seen this! Give me a PM if you did not get a freebie. Rob
  22. 026 and 260 should have the same mount... What is it about the bars the is causing them not to fit? Pics would be useful and any info written on the bars that don't fit...
  23. Thanks Morten - although there are a fair few non business customers who request that I use Royal Mail...
  24. Thanks for the feedback - yep I think the save edge files are the best out there... Grinder does take a while to get used to but it grows on you!
  25. I have got some 3/8" nose bars... you can buy from here Products for the category: Special Offers These have the K095 husky mount - although the sprockets are replaceable the 3/8" pitch nose sprockets are larger than the .325" - ie. you can't take a .325 nose off one bar and change it for a 3/8" nose on another... Don't have them on the main selectors as causes confusion...
