  1. Yep - is it running .404 chain? You can ID this yourself Chain ID table and here Chain | bar | sprocket identification If so (which it prob is) I have: 42" Oregon Powermatch bars £98-00+vat 40" Sugihara bars £120-00+vat 41" Cannon bars £236-00+vat You get 10% off these prices (but register on http://www.chaibsawbars.co.uk first) Sugihara is prob the one to go for IMO. Rob
  2. There you go - so if this is the case then the D009 mount will fit... Have a look here Bar Mount Pattern: 17 as I think you can print these and fit you bar over them to see exactly what you have....
  3. Tried a lot of oils and done a lot of research and have settled for using walnut oil... that and coconut oil seem to have more anti-rancid properties than the others... that said if you leave a chopping board with a veggie oil finish in a damp place it seems to encourage rancidity... Really I think you could prob use most veggie type oils on chopping boards... cheap, easy to apply, no drying time, easy to maintain, easy to top up, no skin formed, foodsafe...
  4. ..... the tidying up took priority as the kids were being taken out to watch Skyfall (by his ex wife - even though his son was only 8 years old they both felt the violence was moderate and he'd been asking to see it all week).... he had finished pulling all the sandwich wrappers out the truck and was just cleaning out his 200T when....

    I'm crying...

    Excellent
  6. Ahhhhhh!
  7. Here's how I did it..... sold it quite quickly as well!
  8. A running Stihl 090 goes for a fair bit of cash... would be worth fixing or giving to some like Spud on here to do for you...
  9. I'd plank it into 2" as I'm sure a few planks would come out ok - the top part is a good size for a coffee table and the grain should go round in a circle which'll make it unusual.... I know you could make a large carving but then the hole becomes more a hole that you could've chainsawed out anyway... Just me pennys worth
  10. That makes it easier - another update for the oregon book!
  11. Alright Ryan - the MS200T - you can fit any of the carving bars really - go for an Oregon or Cannon - these are the best.. start £60-00+vat

Also you need a 1/4" sprocket £23-00+vat as only Stihl have them.

the MS260 is trickier.... you really want whats called a 'blocking out bar' for this saw (running a smaller diameter tipped bar called a 'toonie').

I don't have the toonie bars listed yet but they are around £100-00 for a Cannon 16" and I can get one for you if you want one. These will then run the .325 chain so no need to change the sprocket.

  12. All look good Ian - sounds like you're getting some good cash for them as well
  13. Good thread in sharing a good business tip - I wish I'd had a small grinder when I was 'tree surgeoning'.... used to give all my stump business away.
  14. Cheers Darryl - I'll give you a shout tomorrow... I reckon yes I could bring truck and trailer.... not quite enough there to warrant a hiab.
  15. I don't think the fitting is the Oregon D009. If you go here to the Oregon selector guide OREGON®: Selector Guide The only bar it lists is 16" and has a D010 mount. But looking at pics of each mount they do look very similar. Prob wouldn't take much to adapt a bar....
  16. Ditto - see if spudulike has anything on his bench!
  17. Was when I realised there was a good possibility of not cocking it up!
  18. Many thanks gents for pointing him in my direction Do you have the model number of the chainsaw Steve? I.e Echo CS-8000? If you could PM me over the chainsaw model I'll look it up and see what's available. Rob
  19. Yep - I've had that a few times... people almost picking the wood up and saying 'it's very light isn't it!' and 'it burns too quickly'... Almost like they've been short changed... but it's mild here at the moment... that attitude may change if we have another cold spell.
  20. Very cute Eddie! Like it - you're a dab hand on a bandsaw!
  21. Yep - steel frame to go into them.... The site manager seems pleased as he said he has another job coming up.
  22. Got asked to do a job yesterday - had to mill slots in some 8" by 14" beams. Worked really well. The slots had to be between 16mm and 18mm. You don't associate chainsaw milling with super accuracy but the slots came out within the tolerance. Had to mill up to a certain length. The beam was then flipped over and then milled again keeping all the settings the same to widen the slot.

    alaskan

That's the 088 Big J - I've had a few problems with the MS880 - you have to make sure it gets cooled off as you're milling as after 12 months it seems to develop idling problems and doesn't hold low revs that well.... the older 088 and 08 seem to be more solid beasts that just go on and on!
  24. Ditto above - I use Mozilla. Click on 'unread posts' and get as shown below.
  25. Great - liking the curved pieces at each end
