With a safety factor of 10 that means your Portland braid has a SWL of 500kg.

I use the Jameson's for my big shot, loppers, and pruning attachment. Works well for me, not used the stein.
  4. On small stems.
  5. Wesbroom engineering, Colchester.
  6. If you mean use the flip line as the anchor make sure you don't choke it of on itself as this will cross load the krab! As for descending! UNICENDER!
  7. No, you can drop big bits on the Harken winch but for seriously big stuff there is a separate bollard that slides in place of the winch.
  8. Where did you here it was going to be sold from? I looked into buying one of Stevens bollards but there is nowhere that sells it in the UK! It has the same Harken 46 winch as my GRCS. When I e-mailed Steven the price is cheaper than a GRCS. Looks a good piece of kit!
  9. Work the whole tree of SRT!
  10. The problem with single strand top fences is when deer jump it they can get the back legs caught between the top strands and can not get out. This can lead to death or the loss of that limb. Even large deer prefer to go through the fence instead of over. It's quite amusing watching large Sika stags go under the second strand with a large hat rack on their head!
  11. John, check your e-mail.
  12. That's it, think they are $120 from treestuff.com
  13. I had to shoot a good Fallow buck that was caught in electric fencing, it had been there some time and was severely stressed, electric was still on! The RSPB put it around a load of nesting Curlew.
  14. With the rope wrench your VT or hitch goes below the wrench and is connected to the hitch climber.
  15. Hi Mark, What have you made from the Oak we did in your back garden? Keep up the good work!
  16. They are not for sale in the UK yet! They are not CE marked They are cheaper than a GRCS! I also looked into getting one! They use a Harken 46 same as my GRCS.
  17. I would love to try one of your winches!
  18. Well done Will!
  19. I like the double system on the concrete uprights! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=211700688870713&set=a.211700358870746.57173.100000923495126&type=1&l=a3adc2157c
  20. That's it, assess the tree and choose which method you use.
  21. You send it off for re- ferbishment to replace the cams. Gustharts are importing it and it will bd CE approved.
  22. A line that is chocked of at the base of the stem is easy retrievable. Un- Choke and lower the termination end to retrieve the climber, alternatively un choke and pull the tail back. An alpine butterfly chocked of in the canopy is simply retrieved buy pulling on the non tail end. The tail will be pulled through the butterfly and result in a single line.
  23. Unicender, only device for ascent and descent!
  24. I use 2 methods of tie off, either an alpine butterfly and the line chocked through it or chocked of at the stem. Don't over complicate things.
