  1. If you have the tail near the tip then you have the remainder of the line to climb on and as you re direct though the crown you will have to pull the line through! How would you retrieve the line if you were to climb like this?
  2. Cool! Sounds like you know, be safe.
  3. You would be better of using a sling on the termination end of the rigging line.
  4. Nice idea but I would not use the krab on the lowering line as it could cross load. Does the ring slip at all?
  5. Do you mean using the hitch and the end of the line so there is no tail? If that is your intention I would not as if you did this you could have 60-80 M to haul about the crown! If you tie of at the base and climb on the tail you could be lowered in an emergency.
  6. Used to use that with a blakes as the final hitch. I found it a pain feeding extra line but if your short on gear it does work.
  7. That's a system I also made, 3m is plenty long enough for balancing. Proclimber sell them pre made.
  8. Splice one end long enough to tie a Klemheist(spelling), this goes on the rigging line. The other end has a short splice which the krab goes into. Mine are about 2 foot long not including loops as this is the length that tennex (13mm) works out at with the tail buried and meeting in the middle. Experiment with the length that suits you.
  9. There called snake skins, excellent idea! The hammock light weight campers use dynaglide spliced into a whoopie sling!
  10. If your going to sleep high in the Hennesey make sure you get one with a side zip on the net or you will have to be imaginative with how you tie in! A mod light weight stretcher would do although not very wide or you could go for an expensive tree boat! I love my Hennesey ultra light!
  11. Done a lot of tickets there, very good, great set up, excellent instruction! Highly recommend them!
  12. Depends on your system. Thin rope, thick rope, self tending, mechanical or hitch cord.
  13. What would the A Team do without you fabricating everything from scrap!?
  14. Most keepers are under enormous pressure to produce birds but in all honesty I can say the birds and the deer soon get used to what is danger and what is not. I have had tracked chippers and saws buzzing only to see a dozen Fallow watching us. Birds quickly come to the clear fell.
  15. Just had a huge area of softwoods clear felled and there are more birds than ever! They are not bothered about work but the keepers are. Any excuse to blame a bad days shoot!
  16. I would like a Iron Horse. Think they are very versatile!
  17. The small one would be super cool if it had a hole in it like the big un!
  18. Cool! Was that a Hennesey I saw?
  19. Nice to see you holding the Mog up!
  20. At least the man made objects have been tested unlike out tree anchor points! Lots of variables from species time of year etc.
  21. Is there going to be videos or a PDF on how to tie them?
  22. Paul Smith

    Fuel can

Oregon ones are good and cheap as well!
  23. Is that why you have gone back to ddrt?
  24. Used as my TIP on my SRT line.
  25. Tying a spider leg onto the lowering line. Undo's very easily even after loading! 13mm tenex.
