  14. There have been suspected cases notably one in Cornwall on a Holm Oak situated in the Lost gardens of Helligan. They apparently refused to fell it because of the impact on the reputation of the gardens. It seems that many of the cases in the UK have been through contamination from imported nursery stock. Notably Rhododendron , Azalea and Viburnum. The possibility of the compost being the host was investigated as the disease transmits itself through water/moisture. Plants in pots standing in contaminated water could be spreading the disease. Though the incidence of mature trees exposed to imported pot grown nursery stock is probably low. hot from google. download and save as a pdf then open. http://www.defra.gov.uk/planth/pestnote/newram.pdf (read the last line at the bottom of page six, that made me laugh.)
