  1. petzl ball lock was a great theory , in practice it was a bit of a let down .
  2. Me old county would a pssed that. But once I almost tipped the ( full )forwarding trailer over in Sway high street driving off a 4' banking by the railway station. That would have been hard to explain.
  3. 6 months + 6 months looks like they last a year from when you pay for it.
  4. fine weather is comming , time to get down to tesco and buy some £4. climbing jeans.
  5. Dr Frankensaw has been at work in the bowels of his lab and is perfecting the 357xp. Yes the grafting of a 262xp carb onto a 357xp has taken place and early awakening of the monster has shown it to be of a powerful nature. Minor adjustments to allow sensible control of the off switch need to be done , but who in their right mind would want to turn this monster off. I will send further reports soon.
  6. Do you advocate the application of organic top dressing and worms as a follow up treatment Lee?
  7. man your toy box is bigger than Mr Ed's
  8. Watching other people doing crane work is of great interest. I have never seen it done in real life. When I think of the advances made by this young profession in my 15 years of self employment its amazing. Much of what we do is based on the lessons learnt by the pioneers of arb and from those they taught. There can be few 3rd generation firms about. Methods and equipment in use now are a world away from what was in use 20 years ago. Using video to widen the awareness of new and complicated techniques is to be applauded.( unless your australian)
  9. not too mutch to start with , though I play about with the domestic vids as well so its gonna get some use.
  10. Great ideas and practical tips there mush, thanks.
  11. What, that entec must be older than mine.

  13. :thumbsdown:It was used to connect a micrograb on a wire core flip line to my side D's it got in a funny angle and pop. Lurching towards a running saw when your cutting is not good news.
  14. I went up some whippy multi stemmed lawsons last week and the wind caused more violent sway and bending than I did. When the gusts of wind died out I sprang back with the stems. I was climbing to 4' diameter.
  15. as many as a sawyers fingers.
  16. I thought algarve where a rip off. I seem to recall they where re-selling the same policy as bryant kesek but for far more so I changed.
  17. I think that your harness should have been binned years ago its was well past the sell by date in any LOLER inspection. I went from willans to Komet butterfly MK1 with a hard seat. That works fine for me. But as they say try before you buy.
  18. ahhh back now, cooked the kids tea and done the ironing. no really, I have.
  19. After 12 years of marriage 2 kids , pestering her is less important. A pie and a pint are better for you and arbtalk makes more sence. just kidding Darling, yes I will do the ironing....
  20. does he live on this planet?
  21. as its the weekend http://www.beerbarrelpib.com/aboutus.htm
  22. Windows moviemaker doesn't work with the .MOD files straight from the camera.
  23. There are a number of people here posting their own videos. Can you recomend a reasonable editing program. I film on a JVC hard drive camera then use the MOD file to make the first edit using Power Director as supplied with the camera. Then I produce a WMV or AVI for upload to Youtube. If I want to add music like on part 2 of the pine vid I then have to use Windows movie maker to add the soundtrack. This all takes time . How do you do it , and what editing software are you using.
  24. Only if you wear your best suit , with trainers.
  25. 1st class.
