  14. Northland thats the place, there is a reserve with giant Kauri and a clump of trees called the four sisters, at Waipoua , its pretty famous in NZ .
  15. seriously , have your saws and power tools listed as short term assets rather than capital allowances where they sit on your books for many years, and write them off in 2 or 3 years which is their life span. Get an accountant to to the thinking.

  21. only 8 fills you softy. In my day it was a gallon of fuel on a small saw and more when using a big saw to fell and a small one to trim out. When you have cut your first 120 ft fir you remember it, but when you have done 5 acres you really firkin know it and when you have done 1000's of tonnes your body will not let you forget it.
  22. More than forestry rates and about 6 hours a day it was a MOD fuel depot and getting in and out was a pain. My groundie did lots with them for 18 months but hated the travel.
  23. A couple of years ago they where limited to 20". They have bigger Dymax ones now and the limit is the slew machine they are on. Big hardwoods also cause probs as they need delimbing

  25. in New Zealand I watched the line clearance guys using hydraulic pole pruners . Asplundh was the company and they are big in the US.
