  12. Quite right , I tell potential customers that I will not be piggy-in-the-middle to neighbourly disputes if they hint at a problem. Though, I should add that I have worked for so many people in my town that often I have seen both sides of the fence ( tree, hedge) and usually side with the owners , or the client which I worked for first, or the best payer. I never upset people by being rude or throwing waste over the boundary though. common sense should prevail in this sort of thing.

  21. Dont breathe in too much smoke if your burning fresh laurel. The headaches you may get are as a result of the cyanide. Same goes for toxins in Rhododendron and Yew when burnt .
  22. Go and find a laurel hedge and stick your head right inside. That may assist you in your quest for laurel.
  23. With a fluffy brief they tailor the work to suit the quote. I recently priced clearance of holly underwood in just over 5 acres of Scots pine at the same rate as the local mulcher man charges 3.5k in all material left on site. The reason we got to price was the ammount of beech regen mixed in that they wanted to save not mulch. ( 2 experienced blokes 7 days) Also I just priced a clearance for a mountain bike trail of 5 miles in length and the spec was tight as a ducks rse , thats the FC for you.

  25. Further to the good advice given above. Yew trees show similar problems when they are suddenly opened up in an exposed position . Usually by the removal of trees or buildings that slow wind speeds.
