  8. so true. Competiotion drives down the price for the customer. They benefit, not the arb firms. The arb firms work for less and pay gets stretched.

  10. well i'm a forester who is stuck in a gardening job as nobody will pay me £ 35k.

  12. It can be you have the choice, but there are penalties if you dispose of the asset within a set period of time. So for most purchases under £50k . 50% and 100% are both correct.

  14. I save up a lump and top it up with a bank loan, the bank know my account, what I put in and what i spend. Banks charge a bit more but they want you to win so they can have their share. The capital purchase now attains 50% tax relief in the first year and there is 20% depreciation written off as well each year. Interest on loans and bank charges are also tax deductable. If I was in temporary financial ( cashflow probs) trouble the bank is willing to help , financiers wouldnt. The finance people just want their share regardless of the pain. Always take a scheme that leaves you with the item as yours or buy it back at the end.
  15. Sorry steve, I cant tell you, I pitty you if you have been forced to join the VAT club. Its a PITA burden. Your domestic customers will hate having to pay the extra for no improved service.

  21. could be worse , it could be on the island.
  22. Cannock chase was my first APF way back in '88. I was a green student from Holme Lacy. Rugeley is near but they talks funny, in a friendly mental way.
  23. Tarzan wrecked the top, and I crashed out the butt.
