  1. Perhaps they are crap & don’t meet EU/UK safety standards for chainsaw boots
  2. What no Sky hooks? But then Sky hooks can be found hanging from CH-54/S-64 skycrane
  3. Very F*%king Tight
  4. Its just the 6x6 with the rear bogie spread increased & idlers placed between the axels, prohibitly expensive when compared to the advantages of an off the shelf 8x8 truck without tracks shod with Xbib etc tyres The transfer box instead if engaging/disengaging the front axel it disconnects the rear axels allowing it to run on the silly road frame in front wheel drive to save the massive expense of track ware on road. I thought it was quite unimpressive when I see the video a few years ago. The trailer looks like an off road/oil exploration trailer.
  5. what gloves? however "Baby related" means things related to a/the Baby & NOT the baby its self, i.e. a rattle, cot, jumper, dummy, etc, etc, etc. there is nothing like being specific, if in fact it is right, lol
  6. The split charge units for 4x4 winches that isolate the vehicle battery from the winch batteries are best as they have resistors built in to stop fuses blowing & winch draw way more amps than some pathetic electro-hydraulic power pack Also a quality “caravanning” split charge unit will also have resistors built in Cheep split charge unit wont have resistors as they are only for a leisure battery that has low draw with e.g. lights running off it.
  7. the kid on your shoulders Steve?
  8. it will it work in conjunction with the truck's alternator, so power wont drain from the charged vehicle battery to the flat trailer battery when the vehicle is off but power will go from the alternator to one or both the battery’s when needed when the vehicle is running & the alternator will cut-out in the normal way it dose once both battery’s are at the right voltage.
  9. you need a split charge unit like a caravan user would have to charge the caravan battery via the vehicle alternator, you normally see a second 7 pin socket with a white cap & different pin points so you cannot put a trailer light socket in it. a split charge unit can be nothing more than a relay with a diode which stops the vehicle battery being flattened wile charging the trailer battery.
  10. good enough for gate posts, also a bit of waste oil or creosote painted on and hidden under the lead or even MP grease!
  11. my 90 had very good brakes, would stop faster than most cars, had a few run into the back of it over the years
  12. Does that mean your in or not? If you meant the book, then I am out. if not then, yes I am “in” and haven’t gone on a permanent trip even if I am permanently out of my tree!
  13. There is only one mushroom I am interested in & I know what it looks like!
  14. Doh, no doubt caused by the machine being the wrong way around (weight CoG) & turning wile on the ramps beside the actual insecurity of the ramps
  15. Just remember a 4x4/6x6/8x8 truck with duel rear wheels has about 60% more resistance to moving threw soft ground than a truck running singles of the same track width, also the front axel/s will have a tendency to sink first vs. a truck using singles as the tyres are wider on the latter with a higher profile able to run at a lower pressure giving a much bigger footprint.
  16. Well most “shows” especially ware land rover/4x4 are concerned give out a limited amount of free tickets & stand space to “clubs” and other non profit entities, after all you don’t get if you don’t ask! I think arbtalk would fit the bill of a “club” or non profit entities for the purpose of the APF show & if arbtalk managed to wangle some “stand” space it would be quite an impressive array of vehicles & equipment could be put on it & more of the industry would take note & maybe approach the website for advertising space
  17. God if they did put the 330 in the TM’s that must be terrible to drive! Still miss my merc 2631AK (6x6) with “DROPS” hook-lift.
  18. err it has North & south poles like the earth with CO2 ice & some water ice, so it has a form of glacial ice caps at its poles. have you not seen the news tonight?
  19. I think you will find most of the TM’s have the 500 (~8.1L) engine & not the 330 (~5.4L)
  20. As Ed says the TM 6x6 is crap by 6x6 standard & at £15k that’s about £12K to much with the VAT! 2.5 years ago Scammell S26 6x6 (RR eagle 350hp) with tipper body & Atlas 3008 with clamshell bucket were £4000 + VAT laying in the UK & there were some of the same that were ex UN reserve (from the UK MoD) laying in Holland (Rotterdam) that were immaculate (<3000km) for €12K + shipping.
  21. Mm its surprising, perhaps you should play on some key points/attributes, “horse owners” “hands in our pockets” “yard” & that there maybe “jodhpur” wearing “Girls/ladies” of aesthetically pleasing definition. Or more sensibly You should use that powerful thing between your legs to your advantage (the horse) as I am shore there must be a tree-surgeon in the Northampton area with FREE woodchip who’s child/children would like some FREE horse riding lessons on a fresh woodchip riding arena.
  22. err no, Mars has heated up ~0.5deg C since the first probes landed in the 1970's & the long term (non summer) receding of the glacial CO2/water ice at the poles was covered by e.g. the Mars Global Surveyor between 1997 & 2006, you should remember there have been more orbiters, landers, and rovers sent to Mars than you think since the 1970 (>28) of witch 8 are currently operational (3 orbiters, 1 Lander, 2 rovers & 2 Flyby's) & there are 2 Landers, 1 orbiter & 1 rover along with a sample return going up in 2009 & 2 Landers, 1 orbiter & 1 rover going up in 2013. it just so happens the ~0.5deg C rise in the average temperature of Mars mirrors the ~0.5deg C rise in the average temperature on earth in the same time period, which given Mars & earth are close to each other vs. the other planets then what causes them to heat up be the near same average amount? the big orange ball of heat that we & Mars orbit around?
  23. Lol, could have got your-self
  24. Do you know that the twin-plate/dual clutch requires setting up with the right pre-load on the respective half’s of the clutches vs. the flywheel so the clutch release bearings have the correct hight throw to disengage the relevant clutch without dragging or to allow the relevant clutch to engage fully without slipping, also the PTO clutch release air cylinder requires to be set up so the patruding pushrod sticks out a precise distance vs. the mounting surface on the bell housing & the depth of the ball-socket on the release fork that the pushrod engages in. The twin plate clutch like any/most types/makes cannot just be put in like a normal single plate clutch or it stands a high chance of not working correctly under high power especially the PTO clutch. Secondly you say “I now have a small amount of what looks to be gear oil coming out of the bell housing” have you established this by its smell like EP/EP Hypoid gear oil? If so your PTO should not have EP/EP Hypoid gear oil in it ! It should have straight SAE 80 GL4 gear oil in like your main gearbox.
  25. So has it worked yet?
