  1. I don't think it's that after looking at some pics of tormentalis. The leaf looks different. I'll get pics when it's in flower. Very tiny. It looks tree form but I suppose it could be max height at that
  2. It was in a pot in my back yard but planted it in the field. I think the flowers are small and blue
  3. I find them great and Steve's article sums it up well. I've had the battery fall out twice so I'm going to make a little Velcro strap. I did also try the stihl battery saw and that was impressive too. You don't need ear protection for that and the tiny chain cuts pretty well. It's also a tad lighter
  4. A few views. The right hand finger is the best wood for carving probably
  5. We have a stump that needs to be carved ideally next month. 1. On council property and requires public liability to 5 million 2. About 20 foot high twin stem beech stump so needs some form of height access (possible to remove a section or two) 3. In a woodland, next to a stone wall then footpath and road close by. Some uneven ground at the base. 4. Will be done as part of a woodland show on a weekend. PM me for further details and arrange a site visit
  6. Just found out I'm doing this later this year. I know I need to get up to speed on pest and disease, plus fungus and mattech. Any tips on things to do in preparation? I thought about asking to shadow a local tree officer doing an inspection
  7. As far as I'm aware it's just for government jobs in that region. It's a political thing. I would imagine that Spanish alone would be fine for the private sector. Does anyone know the most common words for arborist in Spanish? I always forget. I agree that you'll find something but have a backup plan.
  8. You have to be able to speak Spanish and catalan to work for the council in Barcelona
  9. Vid 1. Two sidewinders on one harness at 5:10! Legging it at 4.30. Some impressive gear and gear throwing. One dodgy bit where a branch was cut and just missed someone dragging brash and someone on a vermeer
  10. Not great pics but it's all I got. How's the footage from that big wasp?
  11. Sounds excellent. Hope to be free then
  12. I'll get a couple of pics on soon. All good lads there. Shame I couldn't stay for the drinking either. Nice pub that
  13. I can't make the 30th unfortunately. I'll keep an eye on this in case the date changes.
  14. Has it done this ever since replacing the cam?
  15. And yes I agree it would be worth the extra grammes on a top handle
  16. It's about 31 quid extra for heated handles on a 550 xpg. Only used it once or twice and it's great having the luxury. Warms up quite quickly but you just hit the switch when you're sufficiently warm. On a side note does anyone who runs this saw find it goes through fuel quick? Was told not to let it run out of fuel due to the autotune. I like the sight glass
  17. Just wondering what others do regarding protection. I rarely use them but most of our men who do have cut their leg at some point. All have been wearing normal work trousers. Obviously safe working practices are the main thing. Any company policies?
  18. Good vid. I like the mix of static camera and helmet mounted. I especially like the gear lists being added on. It's good to see how different people do the job but it makes it a more useful video if you can get a good view of the gear like that. Helmet cameras seem to be mounted in such a way that you only get a glimpse of what friction device is being used so a good look down and pause helps to see it.
  19. Think there was only one pink blanket. I think the stonyhurst students planted it there!
  20. Good stuff. Was it a UNIC crane by any chance?
