  1. The pee up was good. It was in Hurst Green, near the grounds of Stonyhurst college. Cost next to nothing in the camping barn when there was a few of us. We could do a pee up and a PPE-up separately! Glad to see there's some interest.
  2. I always have to sign in twice. The first time gives an error message. Is this a common problem?
  3. I think it's about time we had another one. I've been to a couple and enjoyed them. I'm up for having a laugh, some beers and sharing ideas. As for venue, there are some people on here that have access to suitable places. Failing this I could do a bit of a search. Anyone interested?
  4. Cheers Tony. Yeah I'm looking forward to putting it to use
  5. I've always fancied it too. Yes the work situation is dire, but it might be worth going through the ISA or similar to see who is listed and give them an email. What part are you wanting to go to?
  6. Tony, old mill... how long did it take for yours to arrive? According to tracking number mine was sent on the 4th of June but still not arrived.
  7. I've just gone the sidewinder way. This is too tempting a piece of kit
  8. The basic instruction ruled out PM too!
  9. I've got a vision 500 and it's great. Had some issues with the rope gasket/seal but it still seems to be a brilliant fire.
  10. I like the idea of anything retractable. Has anyone got one of those retractable flip lines?
  11. Thanks lendahand. I'll call you this weekend
  12. I'd prefer a full time position. I'm giving up a good job up here and taking a chance with this. We are viewing apartments in the first week of April and just looking for somewhere affordable (if possible), with good links to Adenbrook hospital where my girlfriend has a new job.
  13. Thanks for that, I appreciate it. I will call these companies and have a chat.
  14. I am going down to Cambridge in the first week of April with my girlfriend and was wondering if there was any arbs down there willing to shove us in their shed for a few days! The purpose of the visit is twofold. I have an interview and we are going to be viewing apartments. Staying in a B+B would cost us a fortune so this idea sprang to mind. I would provide beer and give you a lift with any jobs that need doing! How does that sound? Give me a PM if you think you could help in any way Cheers
  15. I am due to relocate to Cambridge in the next couple of months as my partner has gained an excellent position at the University hospital. I have over 10 years of experience in arboriculture and I am a very capable climber. I take pride in my work and enjoy sharing skills and experience with others. I have a National Diploma, relevant NPTC qualifications (including LOLER which may be of interest) and B+E for towing. Please PM me if you have anything available or know of someone who might.
  16. Thanks, we're just waiting now for word on the job. I'm well up for a change of scenery but would happily stay put too!
  17. I just replaced mine. Did you notice it when inspecting it or did you notice a change in the performance?
  18. Thanks. I'll check it out
  19. Peter, do you know where is the most affordable place around cambridge to rent? Need somewhere with good transport connections to the city.
  20. I like that about the weather!
  21. Hi. I may be relocating to Cambridge if my girlfriend gets this job she´s after. I don´t know anything about the place. Is there much work around there? What´s the climate like compared to the wet north west? My head´s spinning!
  22. They should make a mini version to hold the standard 3m lanyard length
  23. Vision 500 Dave? I've had mine lit loads already since it snapped cooler and darker. When it's dry outside I gather a bag of dead pop, syc, and willow branches rather than put it through the chipper. Normally that's enough for an evening burn or enough to cook my tea on at least
  24. The instructions don't give a SWL. It is made from 5mm steel and suitable for ropes 8mm to 12mm
