  1. Out of pure interest, why climb when you can fell? trees, waves and cakes!!:-)

  8. Apparently its been in decline for a few years. Hasn't produced nuts for 3. Could be its time, about 100 years old. But thought they could live longer????? trees, waves and cakes!!:-)
  9. The petzl helmets normally come with a new hygiene band. This is thicker than the one that is intially fitted. Just swap them over. 1 minute job, saves yer £'s trees, waves and cakes!!:-)
  10. Worked on a dying walnut tother day. Small foliage, at least 15% die back in whole crown and black weeping sap in main stem. Couldn't find any fruiting bodies. I know photos would have helped, but my phone is playing up on that front. Any ideas? Also left a bit of a rash on our arms, that could of been the heat though trees, waves and cakes!!:-)

  19. The bigger the tree, the bigger the hassle. Unless you can fell them over in a one-er:D You usually find a hidden gem in the stem that blunts yer chain and kills any chance of an early finish. Even more frustrating when the client comes out with the classic "i didn't realise so much goes into taking a 100ft tree down" after they've haggled over the price. trees, waves and cakes!!:-)

  23. Always advisable to put a payment period on a quote. Lets the client know if they're expecting you to turn up, your expecting them to pay. 7 or 14 days is the norm trees, waves and cakes!!:-)
  24. Could aways make sure everyone has to sit a AT certificate. Make them sit a test (chargeable, of course). Then need a card (chargeable, of course) to display if requested. And then a yearly refresher (chargeable, of course). All guarrenteed and above board, which can be added to our ladened wallets bursting with various cards proving we're trained how to breathe etc. Or, just have an open forum where everyone can pick the opinions they find useful and scratch the ones they dont. i.e. Its fine how it is:rolleyes: trees, waves and cakes!!:-)
