  1. Too busy on my phone eggs. Forgot about that.
  2. Be early, be keen, there is always something to do onsite. Pick up a rake before the blower, if you’re not sure ask but try and show initiative. Pack your own sarnies. Get stuck in. Have fun and enjoy it.
  3. Insurance companies in the UK have one goal... make the share holders money. It seems they will do everything in their power to get out of paying. I have had a couple of bad experiences in the past with insurance companies. I hope you get paid out soon.
  4. I have the book of Generation kill and watched the series years ago. Pretty good from memory.
  5. Shush! oy vey, I am on episode 9
  6. Started watching a series last week after a neighbour recommended it. It is Al Pacino’s first tv series. Hunters. Set in the70’s NYC, it is about the Operations Paperclip and the Nazi scientists that the US government smuggled into the States after WW2. Pacino plays a old Jew who run a crew of Nazi Hunters. Excellent story line, great filming but very harrowing. Not for the faint hearted. https://youtu.be/wj4JkiN0kXg
  7. Where was the tree mate? Must have missed it if you already mentioned it. A lot of trees in the South East of England were heavily cut after the β€˜87 storm. Remember the one Michael Fish lied about The lost their tops and then were cut to make safe. Those regrowth stems looked pretty old to me.
  8. I think you owe Spud a beer. Sounds like he diagnosed exactly what you experienced.
  9. A Job we did last weekend. Removing 13 spruce trees from a Kindergarten in Oslo. Had that safety rubber matting to avoid as well as a lot of play equipment. We managed to make space climbing some, taking a few decent tips where we could and a couple of fells. We had to remove the timber via a narrow access road to the front car park with the Avant. About 6 loads of chip and two grab lorries loads of timber. IMG_2449.MOV IMG_2447.MP4 IMG_2458.MP4
  10. I was trying to be positive mate. Now I will say it how it is, a 4 week course doesn't make you a good tree surgeon. It will take a good few years to be a competent freelancer, maybe more. I have worked with climbers who have been on the tools nearly 10 years. Sometimes I can't believe they are still alive. Does passing your driving test make you as good a driver as Lewis Hamilton, Colin McRae RIP, Senna or Prost? No it certainly doesn't, even though they have the same initial license as you. I still say good luck and charge accordingly.
  11. Sounds like you have the cleaning side sorted. Please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top, don’t ruin the industry for the rest of the guys in your area. Too many people have a part time interest in trees and have other income. You mentioned Fire Brigade pension, it might be a rich wife or subsidising parents. Due to the other β€˜income’ they charge low rates for tree work as it is a bit of fun. Plenty of others pay for their entire life, mortgage and family through tree work, keep the rates in your area in line with the rest of the market. Good luck.
  12. Oh well. At least you won’t fall for a door knocker again. Classic trick. Not a lot you can do I’m afraid.
  13. Say hello from me.
  14. Jay, are you working for Steve ? SL?
  15. That magnificent creature on the top of the tree is Mike, aka the Redwood removal guy. The shed was definitely there... look here is the proof, there he is again! He gets everywhere that bloke.
  16. That’s not a money shot mate. Here you go... you can thank me later.
  17. Picture taken by the man in the Redwood removal picture.
  18. It how does that work when you appy for personal finance or a mortgage? Making it look like you earn f’all is good for some things and not others.
  19. I would contact your own Home Insurance, see if they have legal advice. If there was a problem with your property due to this issue at a later date, you would contact them anyway. You have an independent Arborists report, speak to your insurer and let them know the situation and all the correspondence so far. See where you go, I would push for the removal by the council and liability for any further issues relating to this matter.
  20. ...
  21. Santa won't be coming this year. Rudolph got pissed off with the other reindeer and killed them all... Merry Christmas.
  22. Double post
