  1. Been cutting 19 years. Been cutting and climbing for money for about 15 or 16 years.
  2. Could the same go for self employed climbers who work for the less skilled???
  3. The first mog I drove was like that!!
  4. I thought the idea that we are "glorified gardeners" was just the view of ill informed customers?? Clearly its a view held by some who are training the next generation, looks like it could be a while before that image is shaken off
  5. What you REALLY need is ability, IMO. If you have it every thing else will follow, without it even with ALL the kit you will aways struggle.
  6. My dealer reckons there not the best, better with a 460
  7. If you stay small cash flow is not a problem, its all the money going out that sucks you dry. I have customers ringing ME wanting a bill, not me chasing money
  8. Have you been sniffing the two stroke again???
  9. Not yet, but when I do I'll be ready!!!
  10. My 044 has an 18" I like the 25" on the 66 with a 8 tooth sprocket. How often do you cut timber thats 60" diameter???
  11. I think WE like them because WE like to get cracked on and get done!!! Huskys are great if you like an excuse for a rest or like to string out a job
  12. Hehehe:thumbup: Leave all the big boys and wannabe big boys to cut each others throats, jump through hoops and keep ticking their check lists. Turn over is vanity, profit is reality
  13. How is that possible?? it defies the laws of physics??
  14. Who said that????? Oh its only you
  15. The thing is unfortunately Dean did NOT have insurance for the job he was doing. He had tree "surgery insurance", but was doing "building" work (pointing a wall as I recall) I don't really think you can blame the insurer for not paying out, if a builder decided to do some tree work and cocked up would you expect his "construction workers" insurance to pay?? If they did we would all just ring round for the cheapest trade insurance, then do what ever work we wanted. I don't know about others, but my insurers ask me what types of tree work I carry out, IE "forestry", "climbing", "stump grinding", etc and the % of each. Your insurer needs to now the kind of work you are doing in order to asses the risk. In Dean's case I think his insurers were a little harsh, BUT within their rights. The premiums for Dean's insurance were probably higher than they would have been if he were a builder, some insurers, IMO would have paid out.
  16. Spot on!! All this talk of insurance not paying out is utter crap!!! If insurers could get out of paying due to people not following proper procedures how many car insurance claim would fail?? MOST OF THEM!! When did you ever hear of a speeding motorist not being covered because they were speeding?? I wish those who say your not covered unless you have done X,Y and Z, would give use JUST ONE example of a rejected claim??
  17. The 66 is the KING of saws!! Its a joy to use, I have a 25" bar on mine, its 10 years old and still cuts great!!
  18. Good vid. Thanks for taking the time. I see it not just me that find huskys constantly slip there clutch, I really don't miss using one, been on Stihl for about 10 years now, way better on hard woods IMO.
  19. Is there any chance of moving some or all of the plants? So long as you move them with a large root ball and keep them damp while they are out, they will suffer no ill effects.
  20. Hehehe!! and once it was felled did the shop keeper appear?? as if by magic??
