  1. Can't really sharpen them Rupe, I think they work well, quite aggressive. I use the cheap Chinese ones. Mines been on its side a few times.
  2. I have a Vermeer 252 with green teeth, when the teeth are new its OK, but as soon as they loose there edge it gets painfully slow. Today I thought I'd try unplugging the Auto Sweep, WOW!!! what a difference. It takes a little more skill (sorry we are not skilled are we:sneaky2:), you need to act less stupidly to operate it, but not having the A/W speeded up the job dramatically!!
  3. I totally agree Mike!!! I know of guys who have very little or no natural ability who became good climbers, but to be a great climber takes more that the stuff you can be taught. I came to tree work a little late (24) and married very young (20) so missed out on the traveling thing, its probably my biggest regret in life. I really wish I had gone over seas and climbed BIG trees. I still hope one day to leave these shores and climb a real monster!! Unlike Stevie, I still love doing big trees and alway price the bigger ones too cheap, cause I still get a buzz out of doing them.
  4. Fair enough Sounds like you got it from the horses mouth.
  5. Are you certain of this?? This tale was doing the round a while back, I asked Alex Price who checked with a German friend who has a contact at the factory, they said the tale was utter rubbish!!!!
  6. But if you go and work in such a way that you make your employers life much easier and help him make more money, he will be happy to pay you the £30 extra.
  7. The plumber in the earlier post is!!
  8. It does if I'm paying your wage and you are too slow to make it pay.
  9. I thought its 2 anchors when cutting.
  10. You've never been 41 Mike, you may be surprised

    Watchdog.

Whats your problem:confused1: You can say you are grinding the stump, as recommended by the show, NOT put slots in it with the saw and pour oil on it like that numb-nut Stanly:thumbdown: (putting oil on a stump will preserve it for years:001_rolleyes:)
  12. I would disagree, I tend to keep my knees a little bent. I find it puts less strain on them and helps absorb any shock or sway.
  13. Have a great day Steve!!!!!!!!!
