  2. The 66 is such a great saw, when ever I use my it always put a smile on my face!! I had a 395XP many years ago, I hated it.
  3. Other than Honey Fungus, I think the general consensus is that most fungi are in the environment all the time and only affects weakened trees. You said the trees had been put under great stress on all fronts.
  4. You only pay tax on your profit mate and as you say you have a tax free allowance.

  9. It would be very interesting if there was a gas, electric or water main under the stump!!
  10. I think Mike wants too be the "Nigel Mansel", thats why he wants to grow a mustache:lol:
  11. I think a lot of what Mike says about lack of fear and pushing your self is very true, and much more common in the young. I remember before I left school (at 15) I went on a school trip too the lakes, we stopped at Devil's bridge for a swim, there were some older teenagers jumping off, out of the 20 of us I was the only one who would do it. It was not dangerous, as we could see others doing it, the other lads with me were prevented by an irrational fear of jumping which I was able to over come. Most of the fears faced in tree work are irrational and just need mental strength and self belief to over come them.
  12. My dad was fairly hairy, as am I, I'm also ginger:001_huh:
  13. But David do you not find that often limbs are shed by healthy trees and the old knackerd ones hang on for ever?? I have watched some ddd trees for years and nothing happens. I think is good if people are made aware that its very difficult, if not impossible to predict which trees may shed.
  14. When I first saw this tread I thought it said "Dropping a bra size", I thought some of you fat lads had been dieting:001_tongue:
  15. :confused1:Not heard of that one before?? I know you are supposed to be square, IE your span (arms straight out to side as far as poss measure from finger tip to finger tip) should be the same as your hight, but I have a span of 6ft4 but I'm only 5ft11 I
  16. Common sense prevails!!, for once. Very sad, but when compared to road deaths its about as likely as being struck by lightning.
  17. So if its about finger length, why do you measure from the crease??? My fingers are of equal length, but the crease on my ring finger is 10mm higher than on my index finger??
  18. :001_rolleyes:Depends which way round my hand is:sneaky2:
  19. Yes they smoke because they are burning oil, just check your oil level, there does not seem to be any damage.
  20. No link, but here is their number, they are quarry suppliers, 07881780012 Some don't like them, saying they shater, but I have found them very good, they also do finger teeth.
  21. Real waste of a life, very, very sad.
