    660 v 395 xp..

I wonder how many threads there have been that ask this same question?????????????????????????
  4. Do you want some cheese to go with your whine????????? Its a free country, it better to win work on your skill and efficiency, not bits of paper IMHO. Those who are not interested in getting the job done by a pro are not worth a second thought, leave them to make a mess and look like the fools they are.
  5. When felling large trees of winching I always lift up one ear defender, so I can hear whats happening.
  6. The tree has no way of removing the stub once a branch has been broken off by the wind or some other cause. If the tree kills of a branch, as its no longer efficient due shading or like, the branch dies at the collar and then over time the branch drops off leaving no stub. When removing large branches, too large to be sealed within a time frame that will not allow excessive rot. It generally considered bad practice to take it right back to the trunk, its better to cut back to a growth point or even Pollard the limb.
  7. I'm guessing you had to be there really.
  8. Or better still put it towards buying a chipper
  9. If you do it right, its not that bad a job, removal is much easier than trimming, IMO. Start at the bottom, get it off in a big sheet, cut into strips and chip.
  10. Just use bits of wood or stones to the pack the bottom ladders.
  11. In these tight economic times, its often better to get guys in as and when needed, so your not over staffed when things are slow. Could be a very good time to be freelance.
  12. Do you feel this smile ":confused1:" is provocative David??? I use it a lot, to me it just means I'm asking a question, as I don't understand something.
  13. Nicely done!!! Did you do it for the fire wood?????????
  14. I have met up with many members, holidayed with some, done work for several, sold timber to other. These members know my real name, have my phone number etc. My not having my real name posted on here in no way prevents any of this
  15. Whats the point????????? In the real world you would want to fettle the bar and maybe change the sprocket.
  16. This is a virtual community, so why not have virtual names?? I see very few real benefits to using your real name and some possibly huge negatives!!
  17. What makes a sort wood log a "heat log"???????????????
