  1. If 10 people all que up out side a shop at 10;10, who ever is at the front of the que must have been their first, IE got there closer too 10;10 than the others
  2. But the first post at 10;10 must be closer than the second!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have always been self employed and a suby climber within 2 years of teaching my self to climb. I think it very much depends on who you are climbing for and what their expectations are.
  4. What!! and get hair in his eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Oh! oh! oh! I'm all excited!!!!!!!!!!! Its like sniping on ebay!!!!! How do I synchronize my clock too AT time???????????????????????
  6. But he's not going to post the ones that don't, now is he
  7. That the thing!!!!!!! We all through our own experience learn what our limits are and can work accordingly, to try and short cut this process is very dangerous, IMHO!!!! My son is 14 and wants to join the firm in a couple pf years, I am very concerned about him watching me and trying to do things that have taken me many years to learn.
  8. I had a 2003 td5 Disco, it sounded like a tractor and was very sluggish, we only put about 40k on the clock, so cannot comment on how they last. Replaced it with a td6 Disco, sooooooooooooooo much better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. What does the customer want???????
  10. I'm sure all the bugs and beasties are very pleased, as will all the birds and other creatures that feed on said beasties.
  11. Drill a hole in the bottom of the fly wheel housing. Its a real pain in the winter if the water freezes.
  12. Haix Protector for me, I'm on my 8th pair. They require no maintenance and are like wearing slippers straight from the box. I used to have real problems with my feet, chilblains and the like, I now never give my feet a second thought, they are always 100% dry, even when the rest of me is soaked to the skin. They are expensive and rarely last more than 12 months, but are worth every penny in my book.
  13. The breather is under the air filter, there is a pipe that runs up into the filter.
  14. Thanks for your input Tony, always nice to get info from those with real experience of the other side of the fence so to speak. I personally think the reasonable thing is key. I do not think it is reasonable to expects the employee's of a firm, who may have only been given a job sheet that day or have been taken to site that day, to start asking to see paper work or making calls to the LA. Personally I would not work for any firm I do not trust, so would never find myself in a position of having to double check or asking to see paper work.
  15. Quot from that, "East Hampshire District Council takes this duty very seriously and will seek to prosecute anybody who deliberately flouts or ignores the law. From the size of the fines in these cases it can be seen that the courts take the offence equally seriously. It does not say they were "employees" And in any case, the damage was not something they were supposed to be doing, unlike tree removal. That case is similar too some one damaging a car whilst working near it.
  16. This reminds me of the old "if you don't have tickets your insurance won't payout" that people alway quote, but never back up with a single example!! Are people really saying that young lads who are starting out in the industry should be asking the boss to show them the paper work?????????????????? Of cause the law states "anyone" other wise people would find ways of getting round the law, but in reality the guy in the wig will be looking for the person who's responsibility it is to get the ducks in a row. I really hate the kind scaremongering, I have removed 1000's of trees where it was not my responsibility to check for TPO's and the like and have always been happy that sense would prevail if things were not in order. I know of several guys who took out TPO'd trees and the firm was prosecuted, but there was never any suggestion that the cutters were in line for prosecution.
