    Da ja vue http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/business-management/26922-weaver.html
  4. Do you mean your "signature", IE the stuff under the line at the bottom of each post?? If you do, just go to the bottom of this page, click on "user CP" and select "edit signature".
  5. Theres a Bandit on ebay, but it may be a bit big.
  6. Did you never climb when you were a groundie, at dinner or break times??
  7. Not used one myself, but they are always described as one of the fasted loading cranes there is, so as long as its positioned correctly I would imagine it would be great.
  8. How is it possible to know that the pulling has not weakened/damaged the tree??
  9. OK, so we are self sufficient in fossil fuel and are a big exporter?????????
  10. Yes but we still buy in LOADS.

    Oops...

Looks like the prop shaft has let go!!
  12. Is that not where the handle goes???????
  13. To quote the late great W C Fields "Golf is a nice walk ruined":001_tt2:
  14. Unfortunately I think the numbers of those lost will be in the tens of thousands once they start getting a handle on things, a truly horrific tragedy.
  15. To be fair, the kind of people that hire you in are not likely to have the most skilled/efficient climbers, making then not the quickest And to suggest that rigging from the basket makes if safer than climbing is quite unbelievable
  16. Very, very sad, they have been in my thoughts all day. We are very lucky to live in the UK, as Oscar Wild put it "To be born an Englishman, is to hold the winning ticket in the lottery of life"
  17. Hi Paul I'm very well thanks In my head I'm still 15 Hope your well too
  18. Excellent study!!!! For me that says it all!! (although I would argue with the "safety" in the con list for climbing, as thats debatable, IMO.) I still hate MEWP's and would only use one as a last resort.
  19. Be careful, the less you climb the less you will be able to climb!! Use it or loose it!!!!!!! I'm 41, I've been climbing for 17 years and intend to climb for the rest of my days. I do all my climbing, I some times get in extra ground staff, but never climbers. I am a climber first and foremost, running my business is just a necessary evil that means I get a good wage. If some one offered me a full time climbing job that paid £35K I think I'd take it. For some, tree work is a business and they will use what ever gets the the job done, for others climbing is what they do and they take real pride in finding a way to get every job done without the need of a MEWP.
  20. Sorry I'll try and pick one up tomorrow. Have you seen the size of them carp!!! I'd need to get Mick in to kill one!!!!
  21. I have always complained to my saw dealer that there should be a full chisel chain for my 020. It the one saw where it would be great, as you seldom get steel, stone or soil up the tree, so it would keep its edge well. Also I want my climbing saw to bight in not skid along the branch. Any way I got a call today from my dealer telling me a full chisel chain is now available and he's got a roll in with me in mind (and 2 other guys who have been wanting the same as me) I just hope its not got those stupid extra raker's on that make boring hard going. I've already swapped from Stihl chain to Oregon to get back to a normal raker. I'm picking up a loop over the next few days and really looking forward to giving it a try
