  4. I was a Jehovah's Witness. Lee, my parents are good people and more than capable of bringing me up well without the aid of their imaginary friend. I wish they had had the strength and courage to follow there own morals and good sense, as I try too with my children. If my any of my children wish to follow a faith thats fine, but I doubt that will happen, they are all pretty smart.

  7. I've been climbing for 17 years, but my knowledge of may different types of arb gear is very limited, sure I know about the stuff I have used, but not the stuff I haven't, many arb retailers will have a much wider knowledge than me. This thread is making me realise that LOLER is an even bigger waste of time than I thought.

  9. How many on here just pay the money to get a cert to comply with the regs and satisfy some clients?? The guy who does mine is great and I trust and value his opinion, but if their was no requirement I would not bother and I still always check my own gear as I always have.

  11. The stop locks may just need adjusting.
  12. It MAY be worth the hassle of moving the timber to some one, if its accessible and cut ready for moving.
  13. I'm not sure you actually need any qualifications to be a "competent person" if you can get the PI insurance, you can just do it, although I would not recommend any one use some one without the cert.
  14. And we all know "you know your wood":001_rolleyes:
  15. From what I can see in those pic's, yes.
  16. Not sure it would be that much quieter, unless you have an electric hydraulic pump.
  17. If noise is a problem and you have access to power have considered an electric saw??
  18. Can't say I've ever seen spalted Oak, brown and tiger yes, but not spalted. I could be wrong.
