  1. This could be OK for someone, its the baby version of mine, it was listed a few months back, not sure why its back on. Wood Burning Multi Fuel Boiler Incinerator Burner 60kw | eBay
  2. Are you a Limited Company?? If not I don't see how it makes any difference, the business is yours, you own all it owns, so I don't get what you accomplishing by keeping it separate??
  3. I got my Palfinger crane of T H White, I had no idea they sold chippers.
  4. Yes, but you be "negligent" for not stopping them from hurting themselves
  5. Case mentioned was "someone crushing their hand" which I assumed was their own fault, very different to your example.
  6. Did no one see the ":sneaky2::sneaky2:" ?????????:confused1:
  7. I know, just makes me laugh when people say they are "freelance" or a "subbie" and take the tax benefits of "self-employment" but not the draw backs When I was a subbie, I fell and was off for 2 weeks, never even crossed my mind to try and claim.
  8. Is a "self-employed" climber an employee???:sneaky2:
  9. The main reason I do it is so I know the solder has run.
  10. I think it would be uncomfortable, but do no damage, the advertising pictures show it coming down on a football, there a slight indentation where it touches the ball.
  11. My "Thor Magic" has the "Leader" system, which allows one handed operation until the knife touches the log, then two hands are needed to get full force. So you can steady the log until the knife holds it. By far the safest option IMO. Just look round at the APF, lots of missing digits. Also two people operating a splitter is a really bad idea.
  12. How can you know they are not insured or qualified????? As for steeling your page that could well have been the web page builder, with out the owners knowledge.
  13. Its overrated, I wouldn't bother, saws are more fun
  14. I came in to night and said the wife "I could eat a horse!!" She said "your in luck!!"
  15. Good thread, IMO. If your offered work ask around, pm people on here who you trust or speak to local dealers who you know they also deal with, obviously do it discreetly, I've avoided working for bad payers by doing a little research. This is a very small industry and it pretty easy to find out who the good guys are. Also never run up a big invoice with any one, get paid at the end of each week, even if you've only worked one day that week, they should not make you wait untill they have been paid before paying you, if they cannot finance the job they should not be doing it!!!
  16. But that means nothing, what if it costs £16k to do??? My saw dealer related to me a LA staff member making almost the identical statement to him, they were buying £12K of gear and were asking for even more discount, "because it was £12K!!!!", yes but he was making under £500 on the whole deal and had to prep all the gear and deliver it!!! Turn over is vanity, profit is reality.
  17. How many members did you start with Steve????
  18. Nice here today, cold, but lovely and sunny
  19. Wow!!! real blast from the past

So for tree work you would be fine, but delivering logs would be a problem???
  21. Just looks familiar. Looks like you were well geared up for getting the stuff shifted.
