  1. I was thinking the other day about how jobs often go much better or way worse than you had expected. Like the hedge thats twice as wide as you realised and the cowboy who did it last stuffed all the cuttings in the middle:thumbdown: But there are the ones like a huge Pop that you need to ring up to get out and then grind the stump and you discover its hollow as a drum!!!! So come on what are your tails of Joy and sorrow
  2. :congrats: Well said John:thumbup1:
  3. Makes me wonder how "most people" pay their tax bill.
  4. But if things don't go quite he will have missed out on a lot of extra income
  5. I don't really get this, if he does 6 days a week when the work is there he will have that money for when there is no work. I don't see how spreading out the work makes him any better off??
  6. Beginning of this year they said it was going to be another cool, wet summer:001_rolleyes:
  7. I heat our large home with wood, but my wood is free from my tree work business, I don't think it would be viable if I was buying my timber in.
  8. In all honesty if I really thought there was even the slightest chance I would ever need rescuing from a tree I would not climb.
  9. I only found out what that means last week , from my groundie, who is 10+ years my junior
  10. I've just finished a nice bottle of Zinfandel Rose.
  11. This is about 6 miles from me and I lived less than a mile from it as a boy. Pendle Hill
  12. I've had years where mines only cost £1500 and other years where I've spent £25K. (thats repairs and maintenance)

So you actually wish to be offensive?? What is wrong with some of the people on here these days???
  14. I think phone lines that cross roads are 18', nothing is supposed to be higher than that.
  15. This one was many years ago, when the forum was much smaller, we had a good laugh:) http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/4427-northwest-group-get-together.html
  16. That is the truth unfortunately. It was having our first child that got me doing the research that lead my wife and I to quit.
  17. They are mostly very good people, just very misguided.
  18. Was that the engine fan?? I assumed the OP was talking about the flywheel/cutter-wheel fan.
  19. I was brought up as a JW, left when I was 30, I did more than my fair share of door knocking, can't say I miss it. On the plus side, because I quit I'm considered an "Apostate", so they never knock on my door
  20. Are they not just scratches??
