  1. Absolutely I've done the same myself in the past But I doubt there are not enough people doing that to book up all the local accommodation, I was not having a go at the show, just saying I think there will be accommodation for those who need it, IMO. Most people will travel to the show and back in the same day. I may well be wrong.
  2. No I'm not going, are you not taking him???
  3. Not sure about that, its hardly the APF, its a very small show easily got round in a day, I'm not sure that many will be staying over.
  4. Its funny how we are all different I much prefer domestic work, personal contact with the end user, tea, coffee, cake, genuinely appreciative customers who are often amazed at what we can do, bank transfer at the end of the job Commercial work is often (to quote another member re firewood) "Doing the unprofitable for the ungrateful" Muddy sites, other men and equipment often in the way or breathing down your neck. Jumping through ridiculous H&S hoops for some clueless pen pusher. And then after all that your waiting weeks or months for the money, NO thanks!!!
  5. Cheers, I"ll take a look at that
  6. If your wanting Royal wood I would imagine Harrys your man, but I'm pretty sure your not his type
  7. Surely it would be pretty easy to modify. Or change to vegy hydraulic oil, may need to change some seals.
  8. Re: What's the best way to put the Telegraph posts in the ground?? Fat end first, I would say.
  9. Arborisk are excellent, well worth a call, IMO
  10. Also, Flymo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  11. Wouldn't have sounded as tough then though, would it
  12. How do you cope with fire wood? One of the things I like about tree work is the variety, most jobs are a day or less, so always moving site. I would have thought landscaping gets pretty dull and your stuck on the same site for days or even weeks
  13. What do those clients look like??
  14. Really??? For me, I would say May through September, weather plays a large part mind.
  15. Out of interest, how would an examiner know a SJ was slipping???
  16. Leave it alone and see how it does, maybe keep it small by reducing periodically.
  17. Surely that would still be good for 5 years??
  18. This Elm was apparently treated 3 times 6 month between treatment. Its many years since the last treatment, so my guess its just one of the lucky ones thats resistant. I alway put the fact that some are resistant down to cambium thickness. Young trees are not infected, presumably due to cambium thickness, some mature Elms may just have thinner cambium. If the cambium is too thin the beetle cannot burrow.
  19. Could they have been topped to a lateral???
  20. Its not really a woodland. The start track has just been caught by a sweep of the pen when the plan was drawn, it leads to farm land. There is no woodland to manage.
  21. If this is true, even using an existing track would technically be committing an offence.
