    RB44 tipper

This "Mad Max" looking one is on there too.
  2. Cool job, well done. Great practice knocking bigs stems off, don't get that sort of climb very often. Ten years ago I did a tree similar to that (but a fair bit smaller),in loads of space etc, we got there and I straight felled it, chipped it and was done for 2pm, gaffer came out and tore me a new one because he'd told the customer it would be a 2 day dismantle haha
  3. Maybe they do and I agree that it should be better paid BUT the grim reality is, it isn't. Bigger company's (especially power company's, in the experiences ive had and I have read/reading about on here) pay less to employees.
  4. You're right BUT when I had 5 years experience I was probably on about that pal
  5. Going rate unfortunately. Least you get holiday pay, sick pay, pension soon (if not now) use work vehicle all day, use company saws/equipment etc, all PPE supplied. It won't be taxing work all day everyday. 8 hours then go home an forget about it, for a second climber it seems like an alright deal.
  6. How many years experience do you have? Tickets these days don't mean much too me, they just tick certain boxes, I worked with a lad not so long ago that had LOTS and he thought because of the tickets he should command top whack, the truth was he was very green and fairly useless.
  7. Great job that Tom. I love doing stuff like that
  8. In 14 years I've found 3 huge dildos at the base of trees. No pictures tho. One had a porn mag and a tub of Vaseline with it too.
  9. Looks good Steve, thought I'd try it out, just ordered, used my iPhone. Dead simple and easy to use with PayPal, jobs a good en!
  10. Amazing thread, I'm so excited!! What boots would be there??

    Big dead fir

Nice one Reg, looks dodgy as mate.
  12. Gets my vote, some chunky bits of wood in that photo. If budget is really tight, husky 262 or 254 off Ebay would be good too.
  13. They're BRILLIANT James, guy I do some work for has some pretty big ones and they're good for small stuff too
  14. Take a shotgun to the corsa in the back ground. Cheer you right up that :-)
  15. That would be the first thing I'd try. I do like cutting dodgy stuff tho. Nice change from day to day tree work.
  16. It's only madness to us on here, we know how easy it is to do BUT to those who don't know, it's a great thing to take away camping etc. novelty value is huge, I think a Iight my fire titanium Spork is madness at £9.99 BUT to those who don't know better, is it a spoon? Is it a fork? "Sh1t I'm not sure, I'd better get one for camping" it's the best thing ever.
  17. EVERYTHING is worth what someone will pay for it. If they can get that for fire logs. Fair play to them, is it ripping them off? NO as they're willing to pay it.
  18. Yeah I'm on it, it's mint! You'll have to guess my user name tho :-)
  19. Get a processor and a petrol splitter for the bits that won't go in the processor?

    Pruning saws

Indeed. Pay the extra for a silky mate, they're much better.
  21. You could dream up all sorts of wonderful things to do with that tree, to preserve it. I'd fell an replant!
