  1. It's a pritty big club.
  2. Sad news Tony. Have you tried taking your hard drive to a computer expert. It's amazing what they can do.
  3. Great work with an amazing view at the top. A few high lift wedges would make knocking those stems over a lot easier.
  4. I've looked for them too. They've been in the Forestry Journal a few times. Not found a supplyer yet. I've seen the handels for them on Ebay but no tongs on them.
  5. Hope no one was hurt. Looks horrific must of been hell for the guy in the cab.
  6. Would you not then get a Star key thing on the top? The bar nuts on a 346xp like all huskys 13mm,
  7. They're rubbish. Got a whole load from a local supplyer they hold a really poor edge and once they get a little worn they vibrate like hell.
  8. It was poverty spec. But now i have a mid range spec one and it's lush. If i had the money i think i'd have a D3 as they do look the part.
  9. What i found is that the early plate landys are over 120k on the clock where as a nav are around 30-50k on the clock. As for loosing money i got my D22 nav 04 plate for 6k when it was 3 years old. I sold it for 3k about 2 months ago.
  10. I too wanted a D3 or a Navara. As you can see i got the Navara it was much cheaper than a D3. Also the D3s are around 450 a year to tax where as the nav is 200. I think the pathfinder falls in the 450 quid tax band too. Get a double cab Navara and put a truckman top on it and you pritty much a Pathfinder.
  11. Nice. Like the top of the euc comming out.
  12. Cool. Big swing when that top went.
  13. Your working too hard.
  14. You must be earning a fair bit on tonnage doing that. Probally enough to fill a bath with ibuprofin gel to ease the aches and pains.
  15. 40m3 a day is awsome output on the steep ground.
  16. Looks awsome. If your taking it on the road make sure you don't cover the lights and put a ratchet strap or two around the load.
  17. Normally self employed some estates will be employed. Obviously the FC will be employed. Mechanical forestry does have relief workers but you'll normally get the night shift! Forestry is a hard game to get into forestry is expensive. If you get your timber from the FC they will want to you to have all your certs to work on the site. If there is any windblow on the site you'll need 34. If you want to do harvesters/forwarders expect a 2 week course at 1500 quid a week.
  18. My arb or rather forestry truck D40 Navara. Replacing my D22 navara which had engine issues.
  19. Thats a big planer. I don't know anybody who would have one that big.
  20. Thats why we have harvesters.
  21. Plent of forest of sole forestry companies out there. Few members on this forum are/have been forestry contractors.
  22. I do 25 miles each way to work half of that is dual carriageway/motorway the rest B roads all about a 40 limit. So with a bit of eco driving i get the best combination of roads for fuel economey. If i did a lot of driving around town i would get much less. Also in 4wd low 1 driving around the wet boggy fields to some woods i work in then mpg does go down to about 18, then thats dragged up by the motorway trek there and back
  23. Given the quality of the wood and the craftmanship that has gone into making that. I'd say that is very reasonable. I'd of thought it would have been over a grand.
  24. Too late its gone. I do miss it and its great fuel economy. I'm getting about 520 miles out the tank so around 31-33 mpg on AT2 with an open pickup bed.
  25. Is it? I'd consider it an investment in my future. It would seperate me from the rest of the identical college graduates and it would show any potential employers that i'm willing to invest in myself. Also if arb work is slow i can drive lorrys and i can drive lorrys and tow big chippers for the arb company. If i did forestry i can lug the machines around the country on a low loader. Also the EA who use a lot of tractors, not technically for agri use may all need to get HGV vehicles to use them. Also out of interest my forwarder ticket is the only one that an employer has paid for. I have a lot of chainsaw tickets and machinery tickets that i've paid for. Why should an employer invest in me if i'm not prepared to invest in myself?
