  1. yeah, i am near stockport. Distance is not a problem (if the price is right and has good reviews )
  2. I am looking at doing my cs38/39 but i don't have my own equipment. Are training providers allowed to hire out the equipment when doing the course? only asking because so far I have been in touch with 4, and none of them can supply the equipment, with 1 provider saying they can't due to insurance constraints. If i had to get my own equipment, how many £100's would i be looking at?

    echo saws

thanks for mentioning duty costs. even with that, total price of a some i have seen would come to around £350-380 is there any particular reason why they are not very popular over here?

    echo saws

are there many echo saw users here? I am looking to get another husky 346, but echo cs600 has caught my eye, but looking at the prices of them, the cheapest way for one of these echo saws would be from the US
  6. what i do find strange is when i start the saw, release the chainbrake and the chain spins, but when i press the throttle and then release, the chain stops as you would expect (before i put the brake on). so it only spins idle at the very start of the session
  7. thinking about it, it only stalls when the brake is off thanks
  8. i did think that. i checked that, clean as a whistle
  9. what are the steps to adjust the carb without a tach?
  10. 1. It is only 1 year old and very little use - i would say approx 5 hours max in the year. just use it to trim small branches in the garden. so is still in good condition 2. when it starts, when i release the chain brake for the first time that session, the chain will spin without me touching anything. with the brake on, it doesn't sound slow to the point of dying. but it doesn't idle briskly either. just somewhere in between if you know what i mean 3. it has always run fine for me, never cutting out. no one has fiddled with it as i only use it. i don't trust people but the chain has always spun from the beginning when releasing the chain brake for the first time when starting from cold 4. yesterday was fresh fuel/oil mix. i drain everything if i don't plan to use it for a while thanks
  11. been busy today trying to do some work in the garden (whilst the weather was nice for a change) Anyway my normally reliable 236 kept cutting out. first was around 5 mins after the first start of the day. then it was the same thing throughout the day after starting, and also sometimes half way through cutting. could it be a carb problem, maybe needs adjusting? it hasn't been adjusted before because i got it new if so, how do i do it without a tachometer thanks
  12. has anyone used husqvarna 18h hedge trimmers? any good? I am looking at petrol hedge trimmers, but for only light, occasional use in the garden, and only have a small budget, which these seem to fit into (2nd hand) and seem ideal
