  1. I loved the 345 fxt which was a heated handle thumb throttle clearing saw. Shorter than the regular 345 rx bushcutter Unfortunately no replacement AFAIK, Still prefer the 345 to the newer husky 545. Had quite a few issues with it. Got a 460 at the moment the AV is nice not really used it much. Still go for the 345 over the 460 too, i do like the husky harness too.
  2. First dismantle ever i cut a ring and threw it off watched it hit the ground, bounce and roll and take out an wooden arch thing:blushing: Rolled a forwading trailer. Slopes, turns and massive stumps don't mix. broke off a hydraulic fitting off a extension ram in the woods. Welded on rather than screw in fitting. £700 quid later for a new ram..... Bad bad day. Crushed an 064 under a tree. To it's credit a new handle and it was fine, carried on running under the tree for ages. Managed to catch some brash on a really old plant in a garden that was really important to the owner. Ripped it off it's roots Driving down a rack and a tree blew over landing on the cab bounced off and took the filter off trailer causing oil to go everywhere and me to have a very bad scary day. Nearly bogged a 1270B in a thawing out bog got away with that though. Today i managed to whack myself in the head putting posts in. Hit it with quite a heavy driveall.
  3. Not a sabb 95 thats for sure. My dad has one and it's been nothing but problems. Biggest problem is a leak that means the drivers side back seat foot well is nearly always wet. Look at a Sokda Octavia.
  4. I thought of adding onto the wee chipper thread...... "High and unergonomic feed hopper and silly discharge height. Cs100s are the better choice if you are looking for a chipper that size " I know the CS100s are ace. It's the 1200 quid s/h price tag on the TW that's tempting me. For the price are the shortfalls worth it. Won't be used a massive amount.
  5. Hi There are a few of these around second hand at the moment. How good are they. The video on the TW website seems convincing but what are they like in the real working world. Thanks Andy
  6. Welcome to Natwest my friend:thumbdown:
  7. There are a few people on here who have them. I looked at getting the 85EH with radio remote. It was very well built and the solvaian people on the stand new their stuff about it. If you ask RIKO they can find someone with one for you to go and see working.
  8. Saw them doing this in Finland. They do it on the powerline clearings. I wouldn't want to be the pilot.
  9. Trees are amazing biolgically, historically and culturally. When i started out i didn't want to fell some 300 year Oak just because it drops leaves in someones garden. Now i think if i don't do it someone else will so might as well put in a price. I guess i like trees the same amount as i did before i think i like the work less as the years go buy. Skyhuck that a lorry of Oak saw logs. That's a rare thing that is, well the cheque associated with the sale is.
  10. Tigercats cost much more than that and you don't them then either. The WF tracs are much closer to forest machine than agri tractor.
  11. I think you'll need to be doing softwood sites and cutting to mills specs and doing quality broadleaf sawlogs to the timber buyer to make that baby pay. I also expect that it would need to be a site behind as well. Guys cutting the next site while that forwards the last one 20 hours a day.
  12. Oh it's taking me ages. Can't don't want it to be a step by step guide but it needs to be enough info for people to look over. Wouldn't mind you taking a look over it if you'd be willing. You've got a drag trailer its ok to tip them no cranes to worry about. In fact just take some bolsters out lift and slew real quick and you can turn them over your self.
  13. If it's over yours then it's really over mine then. It looks ace.
  14. Forestry tractor Mercedes WF TRAC 1700 of 2008 for sale 106675 GBP at Agriaffaires
  15. Might know a man interested in it? What do you want for it?
  16. IS that a clam bunk stuck in there as well so it does every thing apart from grapple skid?
  17. I nearly got myself an MB1500 going for a steal. In the end i went to play with big kit in Finland. Too much choice is the problem. Agri based gives you versatility and is a hell of a lot easier to get parts and repairs. Purpose built will tolerate the new forestry generations stumps. Problem is if you need to get Ponnse to fix your forwarder. They're a day away at least! a 100ks worth of tractor is a hell of a lot. That Kronos Crane or still Kesla?
  18. Aren't Wilsons the dealer for them? Swedish machines. Worked with a Finnish guy who said he would have one other all the other offerings as they were simple. Never used one. There are some videos of them working on youtube. WB tracs are ace aren't there i too had to sit down when i found out the price. Rare as hens teeth second had too. Won't get a Tractor crane and trailer for 54k+vat. Well a Valtra and a botex but you'll hate it.
  19. I have Felco ones. Although i quite like my Samurai ones from Buxtons they probably more use as their cheap so it doesn't matter if i lose or brake them.
  20. I'm writing some fowarder training. Anybody have a picture of timber trailer tipped over. Loaded or unloaded it doesn't matter. I never took a photo when i did it. If you don't want to post it here you can email it to me if your happy to share it. Thanks Andy
  21. There is a Kockums 84-35 on ebay as well at the moment. Looks rather tidy. Must admit even with it's 6 wheels I'm tempted.
  22. What the woodland is worth and what they seller wants are two totally different things. Especially in the SE there is a big mark up. I've looked a woodlands around where i live from 6k-10k an acre If that gives you a guide price, even at 6k i thought that was a bit much even at the 6k end. Watch out for things like sporting rights being excluded and held onto by the original owner.
  23. Give me till Monday and i'll make some enquirers see if i can sort something out. No promises but might be able to help, with some quite big stuff.
  24. I like those mowed rides they look ace. You might want to brash out those trees for the harvester though....
  25. What sort of time scale?
