    Mine is on the linkage like the one pictured. Feeding the chipper can be a bit of a pain with short bits, but you will learn to put them aside or piggyback them into the hopper with a long bit. I was looking at putting the crane on a jake plate to bring the weight closer to the rear axel but never got around to buying one.I have my forestry winch on the front end loader to balance the weight of the chipper.

    I have pretty much the same combination of Crane and Chipper. I run it behind a Valtra N-101. I build it into my own jobs at £1000 per day. Depending on the species being chipped the ch260 will do all right. How much were you looking to spend on one?

    You are an absolute chopper. Often £1200 won't even cover the cost of the crane, or the big chipper or even what I charge for 3 guys. However if my £5000 bill was less than what the other guy wanted for the same job and we were in and out in6 hours saving you £2k, would you still be moaning?

    Ambulances risk never turning up if no one wants to drive them because of an un realistically low wage mate. Or would you rather you were tended to by a binman? You know, one of those low skilled jobs that deserve a pay rise.

    £50k is not much tbh. If my decisions were a matter of life and death for which I was potentially liable for another person I would want three times that. Unskilled is exactly that.

    I have learned a great deal from this forum, made some great mates, improved my business no end from being able to follow advice given by trusted peers. Its a terrific resource.

    But they would still require a power source and have the sender exposed enough to transmit. There are only so many voids you could use to hide it and the unit itself would have to be servicable/ replaceable. I added a fusable link to the ignition circuit if my tracked machine, plus a battery isolation switch. If it stayes on a site I park it hidden on top of the ramps, winch cable attached to something, battery isolated and fuse removed. Leaving a tracked machine on a trailer enables it to be stolen by any vehicle with a tow hitch.

    I can see another fall in value in conjunction with the next interest rate hike. People will just cut their losses I guess. When/if it falls past its 2017 peak, will many people risk their money?

    If you unscrew the head of a flexable grease line on a regular grease gun the thread will fit the Stihl grease ports. I just use the regular grease that I use on the big kit. No problem so far. Both of them should do but I just use the Nowegian version of Halfords grease.

    Yes its loverly up there. Just before the snow comes its gorgeous. Here is a picture from Røldal during hunting season, late august but pretty chilly.

    Geilo is where they are made, its a Ski town in the mountains roughly half way between Bergen and Oslo. Its a nice place and the only industry is the Øyo metal works.
