    People do bite sometimes. There was a guy on here from the SE who transferred 5k for a processor located in the Scottish Hebrides. Strangely it never turned up.

    No Brass is elastic,so when the gun is fired it expands to the diameter of the chamber forming a gas seal.Then it relaxes to enable the spent case to be extracted. Brass plated steel cartridges have a lower height to the metal portion,even though it stays about the same diameter as the chamber once fired ,there is less bearing surface to make extraction too difficult.

    I found a Cannon ball in the yard.I had been reversing over it for literally years before I bothered to dig it out. There were quite a few Naval battles in Bergen Harbour,it might have come from one of those.

    Fire lead pellets generally. Ball bearings are Steel.

    No one gets to do the right thing all the time. Even the "best" Tree firms top things sometimes and everyone,e-v-e-r-y o-n-e does nasty things to Trees to pay for nice things for themselves. If you reall are doing 30+ quotes per week,then thats pretty amazing to be quite honest.I think the most I have ever done was 11. However why not send your business partner out and see how he gets on?Switch it up a bit?

    I worked in Northern BC felling old growth for a Summer. Then I did three seasons in Alaska,we would sometimes fly out to ,or between jobs at fish camps/cabin sites,radio masts etc.You couldn't just pop back into the saw shop when you are 200 air miles from town. The Mtronic is great until you have to deal with the "non serviceable parts" or it lean's the mixture out to the point that the saw seizes etc.I saw that guys were putting MS660 carbs on 661s in New Zealand.

    Quite a few times to be quite honest. Rebuilt them at night,robbed parts off someone's spare saw to keep my spare saw running etc. How many logging camps/ remote jobs have you worked on?

    How would they measure a woodchipper's out put? Remove the Engine and run it on a dyno? I but those Kubota Engines are restricted at the injection pump,might be as simple as restricting the travel on the fuel rack or turning up the fuel delivery?

    Unless you are logging/ in a remote area and rely on your saws . I like the 661,but I wouldnt want to fly into a camp even with a pair of them. They still produce MS660s for the African and South African markets.

    Just get it compression and leak-down tested. That is the only real indicator of engine wear other than pulling it apart. Find out the compression for the engine when new and compare it to what the printout sayes from the car workshop. Car could have had its oil changed monthly but if it was red lined from cold up hills every day it won't have helped much.

    Could you have a look at a different organisational structure? For example five blokes,7.5 tonner with 9" chipper and a pickup.Everyone goes to the first job,when the end of that one is in sight,two guys go to the second job to make a start with you and the two blokes finnishing off.At the end of the day,two guys go to the dump with the chip and you tow the pickup back to base with chipper and gear with the rest of the gang. That way you have good oversight on the whole job,there is help on hand if needed and you dont have two different vehicles going to different directions.

    But you would need planning permission for a permanent site. You can't just turn any field into a permanent year round camp site can you? *laughs in Gypsy*

    I have one It's is an N-101,I havnt pulled a trailer with it but over the last 3 years it's been pretty reliable. I do mainly domestic work and has been said it's very maneuverable . @Tom D He has alot more hours on his .

    There certainly will be an oil pump available somewhere. Just not through the usual channels. The sprocket that drives the pump is plastic,it becomes brittle with age and breaks at the pump. Or the pump seizes and shears the sprocket off.

    I used one falling in NZ and Canada,I have one over here falling and milling I used to mill with a 48" Bar on it,pulled it no worries as you would expect. I seem to remember the 084 being slightly less expensive than a 088 back in the day,It might have also been a bit lighter? As has been said,parts are a problem. Mine is under the bench due to a seized oil pump,some parts on some production years interchange with an 088 and some do not sadly.
