1. I have been asked to remove a storm damaged Leylandii tomorrow in Bideford. The job is a short notice to us request as we have to carry this out tomorrow (Friday ). Does anyone know of a tip site for up to two Isuzu grafter loads of wood chip? Could have any wood as well if required but I can remove this if not wanted. Thanks in advance Colin.
2. Good job John. Know what you mean about stress when you have all that going on under trees!
3. Will probably call in on the Saturday, be rude not to as it's not too far from us.
4. Great editing Sam. I especially liked the first bit of the video. 👍
5. I know the feeling oh too well. You can't let anything out of your sight these days for a moment. I'll keep an eye out but unlikely to hear anything realistically.
6. Excellent work. The tree was obviously in severe decline,I'm guessing Armillaria was found. We're due to remove another dead Redwood with the aid of a crane on Tuesday and that had been killed by Armillaria. We are finding this is becoming a regular occurrence in our area at present.
7. We are an Arb Approved contractor looking for a climber to join our team. we are located 3 miles from j26 off the M5. The position is full time but will also consider freelance. Please contact via PM for more details. Thank you Colin.

Id test.

Looks like a Pagoda tree (Sophora japonica) I think the botanical name could be different now though. Prepared to be wrong on this one though.

Hello Gordon,

I would like to order a bulldog bone please. Could you email details to me at [email protected]. Thanks Colin.

10. Did it in April and its definitely open book on the fungi ident.
11. Been a very slow end of May and most of June. Starting to pick up a bit now on domestic and commercial work. I've not known it this quiet for many years. I guess you just get used to being flat out and it comes as a bit of a wake up call when it's not.
12. Hi Jon, I'll be going and several of the lads. Might have a stroll around the arboretum on one of the days.
13. Looks like Persian ironwood to me. Parrotia persica. Is the bark mottled? Also prepared to be shot down. Colin.
14. Great job Sam. I'm sure you'll love srt when you give it a go.
15. Yes I use my zigzag with a rope wrench but not exclusively that way. Works good for me, however I keep a very close eye on it. Would be real happy to see petzl approve it or make similar purely for srt though.
16. I use a zigzag with the RW, works great for me. BenR had on try of my set up on the tree kit srt day. Which was very good by the way.
17. I bought some from Treestuff. Delivered within a week and no issue with tax. This is the second time I've bought from them and I highly recommend them. My local Husky dealer would do well to emulate their level of service! Oh yea and X Rings are awesome, only problem is I want more.
18. I have had this problem as well and it'll be the same ones no doubt. Just taken on a lad who was keen to do an apprenticeship but we decided between us that on the books was better all round. I feel that there seems to be a lot lacking with arb college courses in general presently.
19. Could it be a weeping Giant sequoia? Sequoiadendron giganteum 'pendula'. I've only ever seen two in 25 yrs but they sure looked similar.
20. Apologies Steve I didn't see the recent messages. We managed to remove the woodchip back in one load after all. Client didn't want as much cut as first expected. Cut a long story short it was for a subsidence issue. Sorry for late reply. Colin.
21. Bit of a short notice change in a job spec means I need to off load up to two 3.5 t canter loads of woodchip in Clevedon. If any one can help out I would be very grateful and can always return the favour if you are working around the Taunton area. Thanks Colin.
