1. I used to get this real bad around the elbow and along the forearm. As has been said change your climbing style. I changed to a spider jack hand over hand and I can honestly say the effect was almost instant. I've been climbing for 25 yrs now and don't intend to stop anytime soon. What system are you using?
2.
Hello I will take a picture of the die very happy knot for you when I'm next at work. Cheers Colin.

3. Thanks for replies. Doesn't have to be tracked I guess. Having used a 252 for ten years I know that some sites can be challenging to say the least. I will call orange n Global this week and see what's available. Cheers Colin. Oh we are in Taunton, Somerset. Thanks.
4. I guess no one has bought one. Doesn't bode well for that machine. How about the p38rx. I was trying to avoid petrol but this may be the best option? Any one give me some info on this machine? Thanks Colin.
5. Only just seen this! Holding page for www.Arboricare.co.uk hibu.com.
6. Hi all, I am looking to buy a new stump grinder. I would like a remote tracked machine preferably diesel. I was looking at the new Carlton 5014 and wondered if anyone has bought one and how they have found the machine. Many thanks Colin.
7. A good website and local parish magazines are best these days I think. Used to spend a lot on yellow pages book but have changed with the times.
8.
hello mate. I have managed to sell all the wood to another arbtalker now mate. Thanks for your interest. I will contact you if I get any more wood that you may be interested in. Regards Colin.

9. Yes, had one for a while now and I highly rate it. Light/ no fumes/ less noise/ enough power for pruning. Only thing to be unsure of is how long it will last but I've had no problems so far!

Nice fell! I see you haven't managed to escape the ivy! Looks the same as the uk stuff , Hedera helix. There have been times when I've thought of emigration purely to not have to deal with the stuff. Looks like enjoyable work over there though
11. Grown in a double row beside a sports field. They are straight sticks.
12. I have between 70-80 tonne of poplar available inTaunton,Somerset if any one is interested? 72 trees, hybrid Poplars, single stemmed, max diameter 45cm. Excellent access. Felling and dismantling next week.can be cut to required lengths. Thanks Colin.
13. Well done Steve. No matter whether your new to this industry or an old timer this site is very usefull and your recognition is well deserved.
14. Love mine, had the 201 prior to it and this saw is in a different league...so far.
15. Very nice. Still got that Sequoia at my yard when your ready for it James.
16. I've got one and have had it a couple of months. Great saw for small take downs, conifer hedge reductions and use it exclusively for reduction work. Light weight and no fumes. Not had over heating issues.
17. Rules I work by are avoid pruning during leaf expansion and during leaf abscission. The amount of pruning considered with the health of the tree is just as important as is accuracy of pruning cuts. Never been too worried about sap flow from pruning wounds and this is based on Alex Shigos books.Ref Modern Arboriculture, Shigo. Cheers.
18. Yep Sorbus sorry don't know how to link. They have two types on there. I use the red one on my Treemotion and have used it on Treeflex, Sequoias. Cheers.
19. I use a tool hook made by Komet that is specifically for chainsaw to harness attachment. I think I bought it from Sorbus but ill check that out. I've found you either love em or hate em as some climbers get annoyed that they will occasionally clip to twigs etc.
20. Cinch here to. What Marcus said.
21. Agreed. Just bought some and I highly recommend them.
22. Probably the same employers who don't supply their employees with saws as well I'm guessing!
23. Looks like it could be Japanese red cedar (Cryptomera japonica). It's very light wood especially when dry.
24. I've used a sj for a few years now and been using the zigzag for two weeks. I prefer the zig zag without any doubt at the moment. I am hopeful that there won't be any great wear issues with the zz, I found it annoying how frequently I had to change the sj clutch.
25. I used to get this up till a few years ago when I changed my climbing style to a spider jack. It used to be an almost constant pain from my left elbow down my forearm. Was considering acupuncture as I did not like the idea of steroid injections. What style of climbing are you using?
