  5. Teufelberger Tachyon.
  6. if Hadleigh is there bro-pick his brains and watch him splice. enjoy the show
  7. hey craig, nah bro its pretty simple especially using tenex. i should make one out of 8mm beeline really too. Ive got one made from 8mm AP that was a total pain that i dont use-cant bring myself to cut it off though after the grief it took to make. i probably wouldnt splice direct onto the hand ascender next time as it limits its use to the one setup.
  8. it wasnt a total crossload-when it was on the machine it looked setup sweet as per norm, i think it just highlighted the problem. I imagine using knotted hitch cord, pulley, knotted climbing line will see a dramatic loss-i feel some breaking coming on.. and dave, of course you can use it bro.
  9. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachments/climbers-talk/57367d1298184610-question-srt-setups-p1000948.jpg this is what i run bro and it works pretty sweet. adjustable micro frog
  10. Heres a good example of incorrectly loading a carabiner. AP spliced class 1 onto Yale arrow frog rope in a VT setup. The fishermans knot on the arrow frog loaded the nose of the carabiner and snapped it at 21kN. Still a massive amount but expected a lot higher than this
  11. nice bro.
  12. HITO is recognised but you still the need the NPTCs to work in uk adam
  13. i thought this was what adam was getting at! i hear ya ian..
  14. Black Diamond, Metolius, Gelert, North Face, Mountain Equipment et al. For bags that take abuse you have to pay the $$$. As someone else said, buy right buy once.
  15. cant really help too much from the pic bro apart from to say its the not easiest to do by any means. just milk it like crazy and massage it witha rubber mallet to loosen the bury up.
  16. belle and sebastian bro.
  17. ive seen tails pull through bro-it doesnt take that much. bit its very easy to fix before it happens:)
  18. class 1 is way strong enough bro
  19. Cheers Ian, it was good catching up today bro. Hope all the new shiny stuff works out for ya:) and see you on friday adam.
  20. Its a nice rope bro, has a nice feel to it. if you can though have a climb first to check it works for you.
  21. hey bro is that the park we were in the other week?
  22. These were growing on some sawdust in a damp part of the garage-any idea what they are?
  23. Tilia from the other day in Martinborough
  24. you could try doing a very short taper where the core is in your fid. this will reduce the volume a tad and may help you to then get the pull started. once youve got the core to pull through, anchor it to something solid and then jerk it through. If your eye is bunching up then try milking away from eye but keeping some tension in the eye, i do this by keeping a carabiner in the eye and holding it with my other hand. To keep the crossover nice and tight try inserting a splicing needle through the x over. or whip it together. During the bury, keep milking back every so often and jerking the crab in the eye back. Sometimes when the bury is super tight you can gently hit the throat with a rubber hammer to loosen the fibers a bit more . Hope it helps bro
  25. Yeha but bro if you had of bought here one, you'd now have it:) Im probably not going to splice my new pinto either as limits its uses, but ill do a loop splice just to see how it goes. i did one a while ago and forgot to use rleasable knots and spliced the whole thing witha knot left in the middle..
