  1. I think the srt thing has got bugger all to do with low competitor numbers. Seems to be just shite marketing and organisation. Is anyone here from or represent Te English arb association? Be interesting to hear there take on having such spectacularly low turn out. Do they still see it as a success? Or not?
  2. 17 people is pathetic for a national championships!!! NZ has 4 million people and the regional events get 30-35 people climbing at least, and there are 4 regionals befor eth national event. Perhaps the smaller community gets behind it better as more close knit, get more family events on the day( kids climbing etc) use local media to get the public watching. I dont know but 17 climbers is shameful. BUT HUGE CONGRATS MOGGY BRO!!!!!!!
  3. how does your helmet attach Dan ? i dont really get the issue with neck elastic being dangerous (though make sure its good quality and doesnt snap and fling into your eye)as its no different to helmet straps really...
  4. Hate LOTS, either an inner tube as chest harness or neck elastic. Normally neck elastic
  5. Mog glen and Jo hedger
  6. the hearing is the same level as the top grade ones here. level 4 or 5 i think. you can adjust the pressure to personal preference too. i honestly think they are great. and the price? its protecting my head and is cheaper than my boots....
  7. TreeQuip- theres only 4 colours available, the rest is just decal combos. just remove the decals and its a plain helmet
  8. How long you moving back for this time rossco?
  9. Get it Paul, save your head
  10. its very strong Vladimir if done correctly, i just find they have very limited uses
  11. i was upset at the end of the video when it stated this saw will NOT GO into production. just looks bloody awesome. and thats what matters.
  12. Benchmade knives are good for this

    Rope

what we use are STATIC ropes, but static does not mean no stretch. EN1891 prescribes the amount of stretch allowed in arb ropes- too much is energy absorbing and will also allow a fall that will stretch and possibly let you hit a limb, zero stretch may snap the TIP, your body or the rope itself. Dynamic ropes are defienetly not usd in arb except in short length lanyards for devices such as the the cinch. Super static is ropes such as escalator, globe, Yale access that have 1% or less stretch and are designed purely for access and not work positioning. Because we use work positioning systems we are thought of as working in situations where no fall can happen hence the use of static lines (not super static) but small slips will still be absorbed, if we worked in situations where falls can occur we are working in fall arrest systems- and that is a whole different kettle of fish....
  14. i wouldnt get too excited bro, prussic loops i find have limited uses in tree work these days.
  15. Yes bro, just clip the spliced Into the becket of the pinto pulley.
  16. ill put spikes on for the stem but whilst im climbing i generally dont see any need for spikes on.
  17. the end for end splice is perfectly good for a fishermans loop- just make sure the splice is on the leg when tied. i probably wouldnt try Ap as the core is very non heat resistant. ive made a few out of icetail, just do a long bury. Samson instructions are the best to follow
  18. Don't get me wrong bro, I made my own also! but I also got the haas after that. It still makes me laugh how everyone jumped up and down when someone suggested copying the arbortrolley yet but copying other items is perfectly fine. But I also met up with Michael for some beers in the US and really respect him for pushing the haas forward.
  19. For me it's a, coming up with the original idea b, a neater way of doing it c, less exposed elastic to twang d, more elastic power for the exposed length. Michael know still be copied but went out and produced it anyway and is constantly trying to tweak it to make it perfect, I just really respect him for that tbh.
  20. ^^ oldmill hit the nail on the head there, HC is great
  21. Part 2 is apparently out soon, Taylor said the other day.
