  1. personally i class my lanyard as a life line, not long enough to get me to the ground but a lifeline none the less
  2. hitch cord looks a bit too long or the tether is too short as well bro
  3. Well never agree on this bro and that's cool. I tie in twice when cutting most of the time when I deem it necessary and it's my fault if I don't install an access line. If. I climbed on 2 ropes I'd still need an acces line and taking 3 ropes to the tree is definetly not going to happen. Let's just all climb safe, using whatever system we prefer:)
  4. I'm so opposed to 2 ropes in a tree. Why are we suddenly considering it because of srtwp? Why is 1 rope suddenly deemed dangerous? I think it's crazy
  5. I hope to god that I'm never made to climb with 2 climbing lines. Kev does it, Kev rocks it. For me, I don't see the point or the need.
  6. I hate base ties 99% of the time for working.
  7. totally different to the tachyon but its a nice rope all the same.
  8. why the hell would you wanna do that anyway?????
  9. Agreed bro- I was saying that industries have to evolve and new equipment is what let's that happen.
  10. It's like telling a builder he doesn't need a nail gun when he's got a perfectly good hammer.
  11. using a little kong ascender is a good idea if your hands find it a tad small bro. and Ross, pppphhhtttt 78m, thought you wanted to be in the 80m club????
  12. Duck oil is. Million times better than graphite powder. Unlocks even the stickiest of gates.
  13. Hevea line and 8oz 10oz bag- just let it use it's momentum to reach the ground then attach heavier weight(s) for manipulating it. I find if the bags any heavier you sacrifice too much height but wet day, nasty bark may totally change that. Is just take a 8 10 12 and 16 - the you've got all bases covered.
  14. I'm calling bullshit on 28 000 zig zags sold
  15. all the self tending systems a re just made 100% better if using a pantin or similar. no slack generated, no elbow issues, using your leg muscles etc....
  16. 1 shot every 5 secs, lower quality down to 8mp. Good to go. Though there is a million different variances on this of course..
  17. Same. SRT is awesome when it's awesome, so is DbRT. Used a bucket truck yesterday to reduce a casuarina, was waaaay quicker. Correct tool for correct job. Though it definetly feels like cheating!!!
  18. Can you reach that if you need to descend quickly or if it's not grabbing? Great outside the box thinking but looks a tad dodgy to me bro..
  19. 2 saw combo, stylin'''

I've used them Tim- the ones with coco fibre in the fabric were good, the ones without were awful.

haha, fairpoint 'quip! but for any uk climbers off to the nz summer- your skin will burn like a crisp so wear sunscreen and use it a lot. SPF 30 minimum.
  23. the old standard beeline 10mm is class 1, the new beeline blue 10mm is class 11. 8mm beeline is class11. use the samson directions for the splices-its nowhere near 72x diameter!!!!!!
  24. ive broken 2 stainless steel wire fids in just over 1500 splices-only use tubular fids on hollow braids.

vests are great in the heat!! until you get skin cancer...and lets be honest, 99% of tree guys arent going to be wearing sunscreen the whole day.
