  1. yeah bro, the double choked bowline whatcha ma call it!!! its a really cool knot, chokes and locks in both directions.
  2. one of the main issues for me with base anchors is not cutting the rope whilst cutting but moving past the rope with a saw on your harness. also the ability to stand above your anchor and therefore not be tied into anything. I use base anchors all the time when the situation suits, tip ties when the situation suits. BUT if i could only use one, it would be tip tie.
  3. carbon geckos are super comfy
  4. leave the spacer in bro
  5. 2-1000??? id need 2 hands at least to count the broken ones in nz so far.........
  6. fredward- Kev sent me one of the originals when i was in africa with dak. mine was at treetools for a while whilst i was away earlier this year.
  7. want to have a blast on mine Arran? I'm not huge fan and its just sitting in the bag. i prefer the RW but its just a personal opinion.
  8. no issues at all. whats the concern with it????
  9. Hey Ben- they are african honey bees-the latin name i don't know sorry. we will be using a technique the californian team have successfully used in US but has never been tried in SA before. The bees are essential to the area as its a working macadamia farm so they are essential for the pollinating. We are real confident that this technique will work but are keen to try other things in september for sure bro. you should come along.
  10. Hello there!! been a while.... apologies if this is a double post ( Dak may of done it already)- heres a short video of our ongoing project in South Africa. We are returning in may 2015 with a university from florida to install some new bee deterrents for the parrot boxes. In sept 2015 we are installing more boxes and are inviting climbers to come join us for 9 days in SA bushland. If anyone is keen, jump on the EXPLORE TREES website and we can send you an info pack. Thanks its a ton of fun, trust me
  11. RW, big shot. personally id hate to use any system that doesn't enable a descent without a changeover. Sounds like a super cool trip bro

The rapace are not just a red tag bro. The red plastic section is the place for semi crampons to attach to, hence the sole being a lot stiffer. The rand is also heavier duty as it's designed to take kicking ice. I'd take 1 pair of rapace over 3 pairs of mtn gtx anyday.
  13. ive never broken a large caritool, there strong bro! the smallones? weak as piss
  14. pull up and twist against the gate bro, it will then open
  15. Bro, is it ten years since NZ already??
  16. green black white- is also the CE colours of teufelberger tachyon. coincidence??
  17. its a very real fact. go to your local arb shop and hold all the diferent colours of a rope, they will feel different because the dye effects the polyester and the nylon.
  18. all ropes dyes affect the material at a molecular level. a good example is speed skiers, red suits have a better airflow because of the red pigment as its like a golf ball and disturbs the air. I cant explain in detail a i dont have th details, ive just climbed on alot of the ropes and found green to bouncy. black n white seems very hardwearing, yellow is very soft. Apart from that, i can help no more!
  19. What do you reckon Kev?!!! Totally biased towards the explore/ safari colour- it's trippy:) Totally serious Oldmill, the dye makes a big difference.
  20. Colour does affect how the rope performs. I found the green tachyon waaay more stretchier than the black white n green tachyon. And yellow Arbormaster is a lot softer than blue Arbormaster.
  21. It is, the 11mm at least is.
  22. Should be as smooth a a butter descending bro
