  1. I see your Connor hedge and I raise you bougainvillea in a palm tree....
  2. What a muppet
  3. Just started last week bro- it's kinda cool job
  4. Hc is the best hitch minding pulley made for arb
  5. Another short video showing what base anchors we used on our last trip to Africa. Hope it helps..
  6. yeah i doubt youd ever have any issues except in a comp tbh
  7. RIG and D4 are good for base anchors as far as i know. Must be attached to a belayer as thats what petzl say in the instructions. I know heaps of people that have or still do use a grigri as a base anchor with no issues. No problems with the questions, just thought id answer in the pc and truthful way
  8. It's a big no no from petzl to use a grigri as a base anchor. It's designed to always be attached to a belayer.
  9. 5 days sick pay, i think is mandatory for emplyed persons. we also have ACC- if you get injured at work or out of work, you are paid 80% of your wages until you are fit to work again. You cannot sue for injuries because of lost income.
  10. its law in NZ that you get sick pay-i just thought it was in UK also.
  11. how come you didnt get sick pay?
  12. totally peter- i took home less but pretty much everything went through the company...
  13. i hear ya. companies(not all but some) often see us ( contract climber) as expensive as they just look at hourly rate. they forget that we pay for training, courses, gear, holiday, sick pay etc. last year was one of my lowest earning years ever but i travelled a lot and had a great time- i couldnt of done that as an employee. huge pros and cone to both. for me contracting is a lifestyle choice.
  14. but you get the joys of taking days off whenever you want... if money is the factor for going as a contract climber, personally i wouldnt bother as you said.
  15. Haha bolam!!!! Was expecting something from ya bro
  16. $4-500nz is average in Auckland for contract climber

    Hitch Cord

Might as well get heat resistant too. Beeline blue, hrc, ocean polyester- all good cords
  18. That's the thing, some of it has absolutely no issues. Then the next roll can be total rubbish
  19. Braids knotted together at factory, cover braids burnt off, core different diameters, tightness of cover braids either loose like poison ivy or super super tight. That's enough to put me off
  20. If I didn't use kern, I'd be on blue tongue. Great rope. Hard wearing and nice 'hand feel'. After that I'd go to tachyon.
  21. yes no problems- its what i use when i drt.
  22. Kern is perfectly good for DRT but 11mm can be a bit thin for some people. and having the standard stitched eye can be a pain for pulleysaver/cambiumsaver retrieval. Some of the newer cougar blue is pretty patchy coming from the factory-there has been a lot of complaints here in nz about it. the old stuff rocked though.
  23. For me the unicender is so close to being awesome but just doesn't quite do it yet. Needs a nice pulley below it, a gate to trap the rope in it, harder wearing surfaces. I've seen Morgans prototype and the future should yield something amazing. At some point.
  24. those nigerian emails are guaranteed money earners.
  25. checkout the o rig bro-really useful (and heaps better in my opinion) than putting your zz or hc on a long tether
