whats the max weight/ amount of rope below the rig that it can cope with bro?
  2. like anything bro, its what you make it to be.
  3. I'm using a vt, op pinto and tachyon bro
  4. you can use retrievable redi withs srt bro. the whole climb is different when doing trees on srt, though i totally appreciate that it may not be for everyone(not saying that at you though bro:)
  5. just get a friend to send it, its gotta be miles cheaper than 80quid
  6. WOW bro

    Petzl Rig

they are VERY slick swivels those DMM beautys
  10. if the knot stuck in a crotch you've only compromised a situation that dbrt never allows you to do (unless working of a midline anchor on access line)-not ideal but no reason to discount the idea in my opinion. Ive personally started to prefer the locked off cambium saver tip over the base anchor at the moment.
  11. Sweet bro

    Throw line.

Cheers for info al. I may very well copy your idea:)
  13. I can't see any reason too. Do you stitch any other knots? BUT I don't really know how loler works, best to ask a qualified person in uk.
  14. pretty sure if NZ has them the UK will do bro
  15. imagine telling someone to cover there tats in NZ! and telling someone to cover them whilst working in the heat is just crazy and hopefully illegal.
  16. got the new backpad the other day. My old one was very worn so not sure how much better it is but it is very comfy.
  17. hey paul, perhaps i was a bit swift in saying the rig cannot do such and such. for me as an arborist with a history of hitch control, the rig doesn't work as well for me. Its the ability to ascend ropes without other gear that i like about, the RADS system puts me off any other srt system. Its all good though and cheers for your comments bro.

    Throw line.

i like that Al, where do you get it?
  19. the rig cannot do what a wrench can when working in a tree when facing a multitude of angles, long ascents/descents, micro ascents/descents, swings, jumps, etc.. the rig is a brilliant piece of kit but just not great for quick tree work.
  20. Nice Ian. It's great aye
  21. really dodgy i reckon. if its an eye splice that doesnt grip the crab but can fit on th gate, just a tiny amount of pressure opens the gate.
  22. if i replaced everything at the same time it may of been but as i only replaced as needed, not a chance bro.

In that pic I took on my iPhone, guy edited using an android app. But the iPhone app is bloody good too.
  24. I just whip and lock stitch above that in n e s w through the splice
  25. Use a tent peg then bro.
